Texts to 233 are free. Also, if capitalisation was the issue, you would have received a reply from the system to tell you explicitly that it did not understand your text. Did you not receive this message?

I texted "Stop 3gb" to 233 and got no response.
I texted "Stop zone 3gb" to 233, as I thought maybe it was a zone pack then (no way to tell from the website).
I got back a message that said:
"Somethings gone wrong, We can't do what you have asked us to do right now. We've not charged you. Please call us on 200 for more info."
That implies a charge does it not?
I then sent "STOP 3GB" and got the "All done" response.

IMO it implies you haven't been charged.

But it implies that if it didn't go wrong I would have been charged, is how I read it...

I have to respectfully disagree with RunningMan. The words "We've not charged you" aren't meant to imply anything. They are explicitly telling you that you didn't get charged. They are also quite clear IMO in letting you know that whatever it is you wanted to happen, didn't happen.

If you are interested in resolving the issue of why you got no response to "Stop 3gb" then as requested please send me your MSISDN and the date and time you sent this message and I will check what happened to it.

Just to add to this, both myself and my partner were with 2 degress.

However we kept being over charged $10 a month (making it $20 per month each), on $10 txt !!!

Checked we were not using data. (Tick)
Checked we were not making calls (Tick)
Would do less than 500 txts a month.

In the end we tried calling the help line, the customer rep was unhelpful, would not reimburse us for the overcharging and when we expressed displeasure at this he was incredibly rude and nasty to her. Subsequently we left and joined Telecom.

No billing problems since.
No issues either.

I hope 2 degrees gets their act together, it is good having competition in the market, but it has to improve..

I was trying to be sensitive with my comment, but you are quite correct - perhaps I should have been more direct!

Ok.
I probably should have worded it more like "It implies that if it didn't go wrong I would have been charged".

That makes more sense. :-) It's a generic error message that also is used if you had been asking to buy something (because the error is that it didn't understand you, so by definition it doesn't know you're not buying something) so it has to be a bit vague.

If you were doing less than 500 texts a month you probably would have been better off not on $10 Text. Be that as it may, I've never seen a problem of that kind. Unfortunately now the required records will no longer exist. When (roughly) was this happening? I know it's too late for you but I would like to check it if possible anyway.

Please PM either me or SaltyNZ with the numbers you had with us at the time so I can check the info we have on this.

JFI - If you have 2 numbers with 2degrees you can top up $20 on one number add the $10 Text Pack and send the remaining $10 to another Prepay number using ME2U

Please note that if you have data turned on and an active data session running on your phone when you top up with no active Data pack on your account you will be using data at casual rate of 50c per MB which will chip away at the rest of your credit preventing you from sending the ME2U or from getting your following months $10 Text Pack.

You can check your balance and usage in Your 2degrees to see what your credit has been spent on at any time.

You can also check balances from your phone using our mobile app - http://www.2degreesmobile.co.nz/help/mobile-app and *100# menu - http://www.2degreesmobile.co.nz/star100hash

Cheers
