By the way, I dont know why anyone has troubles with the Netcomm NF4V wireless.

 

I have had several wireless routers here HG659, D-Link DIR-825 and various others, none have approached the NF4V in its ability to punch through the walls and cover the house with a decent 2.4Ghz signal. As for the dual band, Ive found that 5Ghz coverage much worse in our modern home than 2Ghz, so the second band is no issue, albeit throughput is meant to be over double the lower band.

 

I was surprised that the DIR-825 which has external aerials and supposedly higher power is weaker than the NF4V which has Im guessing PCB tracks as aerials.

2.4Ghz will always provide better Wi-Fi coverage over the 5Ghz band due the way radio works the higher the frequency the smaller the coverage footprint

thats because 2.4ghz goes through walls better than 5ghz. it sounds like you are trying to use a single device to provide wifi to your entire house which in this day and ages isnt the best solution, using a second AP will provide better coverage and speed.

Due to the vagaries of UHF that idea doesnt always apply. I have tried using D-Link and Huawei as 2 separate access points but not as good as the single access point with the NF4V. Also the modem seems to be more stable and double ADSL upload speeds than any other device Ive used over the years (I dont work for Netcomm BTW).
