So basically four weeks after the migration to the new network, my issue is finally resolved.

4+ calls to contact centre plus 10-20 hours of trying to get it work...

The issue was old static IP was on the old snap network, and IPv6 was populated with my IPv4 address.

First call today they allocated me a new IPv4 and IPv6 static address (two prior calls didn't do this as didn't know how or impacts of pressing this button in the backend).

BuT the provision didn't work this morning properly (was meant to be a 15-20 min change). 5 hours later still hadn't been fixed.

Call number 2 today, finally had them kick my session on their end.

Power cycle of router finally got the new IPv4 and IPv6 addressing working.

In short VERY disappointing experience and really limited skill and understanding in the contact centre to manage the migration and issues from old to new network.

As soon as was fixed, my internet speeds/browsing sites has increased (as assume ipv6 no longer erroring and slowing it all down).

Now running on DHCP - no idea if pppoe is working.

@freitasm - you may have similar issues if you had a static IP address and been there 3+ years and were cycled from static to cg-nat to static on snap side.

My account is ~4 years old and also had a static IP assigned after 2D moved everyone onto CG-NAT, so I'm guessing IPv6 is broken on my account for the same reason (have turned it off on the Fritzbox for now).

What I don't understand is why 2D hasn't done a validation pass over all accounts with a static IP, checking for v4 addresses in the v6 field, and proactively fixing them, rather that forcing everyone to spend hours/days troubleshooting and talking/on hold with their call center...

I'm also blown away no testing or validation everything comes up correctly.

But yes you'll need to call and follow my post, tell the agent what's required as they have limited training on the new platform

Hey guys, you wonderfully knowledgeable people, I have been trying to understood what's happening with my connection, I believe the answers lie in this thread but I don't have enough of a grasp on how it all works to understand if this will fix the issues I'm having. Since Matariki weekend we've had weird internet issues, including Google home and alexa devices playing up or not working at timed, various apps of android and iOS not functioning properly, or at all. I haven't made any changes to my setup and trying to trouble shoot has lead me here. I have a static ip address with 2 degrees, I never managed to get ipv6 working and gave up on it, didn't seem to cause me any issues so I never pursued it. I've logged into my router and can see the WAN type is set to PPPoE. Do all I have to do to fix the issues is change that to DHCP, or is there more steps I need to take?
Thanks.

Well this is a frustrating read. My connection was cut at 9:55 this morning while my wife and I are both working from home. So I miss meetings to phone 2Degrees and get this sorted, just to be told that my account is "being migrated" - I assume it's the same migration you're discussing here.

It's now been 4 1/2 hours and it's still down. The only positive of calling them was being given 50GB of data on my mobile to get us through the outage. Luckily I'm able to pull together some old computers, change some settings, and get the house back online... until I need my mobile to be MOBILE.

Like other's, the first I heard about this was when my internet was cut. Apparently I'll get an email when it's finished migrating... not much help.

You are expecting an ISP to actually be proactive (Instead of reactive)! That is almost suitable for the "Silly Joke" thread 🙃

I've yet to see one that is proactive.

Hate to say it, however from the issues been reported the only proactive thing you can do is to switch providers to avoid the hassle and extra grey hair on dealing with these issues.

My Mother in Law still can’t sign in to internet banking so I need to switch her across to a new ISP. Then at least it’s planned and you have a date on the switchover so i can ensure she doesn’t loose internet.

Already purchased a new modem in preparation.

2D used to be the underdog, now they are just a corporate

Those smart home issues you described are the exact problems I had when I switched to 2Degrees a couple of weeks ago, and they hadn't setup a static IP yet.  I spent two days tearing my hair out with my smart speakers/displays bugging out and certain devices not responding.  I play Company of Heroes 2 online and even that would randomly disconnect during match searches.

All of these issues stopped as soon as my static IP was setup and active.  My setup is IPv4/IPv6 through an Edgerouter-X on DHCP.  Can you confirm you're still using your static IP address?  Perhaps it has been lost in the migration process and you've ended up on CGNAT?

Unfortunately I don't have power for a large chunk of yesterday evening so I'll have to check those tonight. I'm pretty sure we still have our static up working, at least on ipv4. I tried setting up ipv6 but never actually go it working. I'm using a grandstream router. I'll investigate tonight and see what I can find.

I had issues with the migration with no service at all for about 3 weeks.

I spent a many long hours on hold, and then a few hours with support on a few occasions. They set out a new router which made no difference and eventually said that they logged a fault with Tuatahi, after waiting another 5 days I rang Tuatahi direct and their support immediately saw the issue and fixed in within 5min, didn't say what it was apart from configuration issue at their end. He also said he could see no record of a fault being logged so very glad I took it into my own hands.

In saying that that was full loss of service which doesn't sound like other peoples issues.

Ok - had to call them. Other than the wait (about 40 mins or so) took about 5 minutes to fix. IPv6 issue was the same as above. Annoyingly to fix it they had to change my IPv4 static ip as well.

All resolved and ipv6'd up now.

Not read whole thread..... but has 2D actually had any input on this ? It seems ridiculous that they've broken multiple users connections. I don't see why we should have to call them to get it fixed....

My connection has been dodgy as hell since the migration, originally thought it was something I did, but now appears not.

When the migration was originally done they stuffed up my static... but then resolved that.

I can't even connect to Zoom, get Google notifications, watch Neon etc......

@xpd Suggest read my post on the top of the prior page.

But yes very useless from 2degrees, but you need to call them to get it fixed....

Do you get the IPv6 logo on Geekzone (top left), my guess is you don't.

Get them to check your connection per my post above, but I think you're devices are getting IPv6 dns resolving, but unable to connect so everything just fails ebverywhere!

As soon as they re did a new static IP (119.x.x.x) range and dropped my connect (needed another call same day to get this part), everything just started to work and got my connection back to normal

Is there still a 2degrees rep about on geekzone? I recall one a few years ago, but I think he moved on from 2degrees.

Was really screwing with google home devices

On hold now.... (sigh)

20mins hold, call answered.... pity the guy has no clue what I'm talking about :(

Now on hold....

And he's now said he'll put me on a static IP for $10 a month... surely he can see I'm already on one... anyway, told him that... "oh".

On hold again.
