I have been using dyndns for the last 10 years and its worked fine.

However about 2 years ago they dropped the free option and are charging US$72 for 2 years.

Before I shell out for another 2 years:

Does 2Degrees do domain registration etc.
Does it handle their dynamic IP allocation or do I need to pay extra for fixed IP
Where do you find any of this info on their web pages
What are the costs.

I am still on a Snap plan do I have to change to 2Degrees (I would then look at other ISPs too.... any suggestions).
We currently have 2 phone Numbers (phone + faxability) so only ISPs who can handle this (Orcon can't, we shifted from
them for this reason).

If I change to 2Degrees what happens with VDSL, I currently and getting an excellent throughput of 70/30Mbs
and I am NOT interested in "as fast as you can go unto 30MBs", why would I pay to have a speed cut.

TIA

Can confirm, I switched from Snap VDSL to 2Degrees VDSL and get full throughput (no limiting) of 61/12Mbs. I believe the "up to 30Mbs" is for UFB as to increase that speed you have to pay more.

Good morning Sir,

We do indeed, $40.20 inc GST, we do zone file hosting as well at no additional charge.

sir1963:

Dynamic by default, static is an extra $10/month inc GST (on both ex-Snap plans and new 2degrees plans)

There is no requirement to change to one of the new 2degrees plans for either of these services, if you are happy on your current plan you are more than welcome to stay on it at this point in time. All our xDSL connections are provided at the max your line can handle, we don't artificially limit these at all. the up to 30Mbps refers to the base UFB download speed at that price point.

Hopefully that answers everything, feel free to let us know if you have any further queries.

Thanks

$10 extra per month? Hmm. Other ISP's are a one off charge of $20 on MyRepublic or $45 on BigPipe

$20 per month with Vodafone.......    hence why I switched to another ISP where it was a one off fee (cant remember exact, but was only $20 or less).
