I am downloading from Steam at > 2mb/s. I have never seen such speed, it is more than double the best I have ever got...
Did Orcon buy another hamster?

Ragnor: It's not really a net neutrality issue imo, basically Xnet and Slingshot host Steam content mirrors so their customers can benefit from local downloads.. they could make then open to all NZ ip addresses if they wanted to but it would probably cost them $$ for more domestic bandwidth and who would pay for that?

Peering at Citylink operated exchanges is really quite cheap - only a couple hundred dollars a month for a 1gbit/s port.
This, however, does not include traffic to/from Telecom and TelstraClear, who, sadly, own a fair chunk of the market.
