Newbie here. Just thought id post some findings from a test i did tonight which i was quite surprised/annoyed with.
Just moved into the city and theres a waiting list for broadband in this area, so a friend lent me his vodafone vodem to use. I used the 2degrees sim in my mobile phone to test for a week and its been pretty good.
Well, i went and bought a 2degrees usb stick today with sim and 3gb of data. Installed it and ran a speed test and got the results below:
1) 2Degrees USB modem with 2 degrees Sim

I thought this was slower than the vodafone stick as i rememeber doing a speed test last week and getting closer to 3mb down speed. So, i plugged the same 2degrees sim into the vodafone usb modem and got this result
2) Vodafone usb modem with 2degrees sim.

I did numerous tests, all results were similar to the above. 2degree's modem gave me 100+ pings and only 1 - 1.5mb down speed. Vodafone modem gave me 50-60 pings and 2.5 - 3mb a sec
I live very close to the vodafone building in the viaduct, so maybe that has something to do with it. Though i wouldnt have thought they transmit signal from there.
oh well, guess ill be buying a vodafone usb modem to use with my 2degrees sim now. Would be interesting to know what speeds i would get on the XT 21mb sticks. Anyone tested/can test? :)
cheers.
Ben
