Hi, im a 60 yr old woman not too good if atall with technology needing desperate help...On the 5th December, in Ruakaka Northland we had a power outage and my recorder is totally not recording myshows even when it says it is..Used EZPG and pre recorded what j needed to watch, and also my library I have shows I can't watch either..i press play and it goes blank my tv, yet it says it's playing .. Have done nothing different but I can sometimes watch something, like today I was able to watch a movie I recorded I fell asleep as im very unwell, so this us my life for me now, so important to me, and it usually says, watched, not this time and went back to it, I could not watch it, better still the screen showed nothing but said it was playing..so all in all its saying its taping but won't, and went to delete a show out of library and it said I could not.
Please anyone Can you help me, as upsetting me greatly..this is Christmas Day watching tv as too sick to do anything else, live alone so no one can help me..please please can anyone help me..im beside myself..thankyou..

Anne Marie

That must be upsetting for you. Have you tried contacting Freeview for advice. They are usually quite good if you manage to catch a human. I would also suggest you make sure you have a surge protector on all your expensive devices if power outages are a frequent occurrence there.

Hopefully someone here smarter than me can help you.

Thank you to above reply..i spoke to hervey Norman where I brought it, he told me that a surge protector a must and my one has faded out and they had a better model only one left but only only on pension..so had told me to go to an electronic store and they may fix hard drive or whatever the problem is $70 straight up then after that more charges..its sad as that's all I do as a sick woman so stuck at home..had a look on trademe but never know what's wrong with them to sell them.
I dont know, my return policy no good as the power cut probably ended it so not happy at all..thats my Christmas day as in my own for Christmas cant afford a Christmas present let alone food as so many New Zealanders relate.
Thanks so much for reply as way things been for me this whole year, blow after blow, first my dog died and my husband called marriage not even a year quits choosing drugs over me, devasted as I believe marriage was life but will not have drugs as competition..so making life on m own..a survivor, have to be..
Merry Christmas to you and your family 🎅🎄💯🙏

It does sound like a hard disk problem. Perhaps contact Freeview first to see if they have a certified repairer, before going somewhere else.
