Hey guys,
We provide A.I. driven software which automatically extracts data from documents such as invoices, receipts etc. We typically license to companies like account software ERP etc. to build into their platforms so we have a finite number of customers. However we often need to help their own reseller channels to sell and even drive demand from their end users so we have a somewhat complex sales structure.

Our current CRM is ZOHO. It works OK but is pretty basic - for example I couldn't even get a list of contacts where their parent accounts match a certain condition (e.g. find all contacts where their parent account is in the "food" industry). We have just started using Capsule CRM for our local business association which seems much better and would allow this particular example. But for our own business we want to look to migrate to a more powerful CRM.

What we have found is that we want to create a series of "objects" which can have relationships built between them. E.g. objects may be:

  • Organisation
  • Person
  • Company Type
  • Industry
  • Software
We may define a company type as a software company and then link the software they provide to them. We then want to have separate accounts for resellers but "tag" the fact they resell this particular software. So lets say we wanted to create an email list, we could create a view which showed all contacts from the parent software company and resellers to email to about some new update etc.

My understanding is that Dynamics CRM may be able to do this but ideally looking for SaaS. Anyone experienced in this field?

Dynamics CRM can be either hosted in-house or used on the cloud branded as Dynamics CRM Online.

Dynamics CRM can do that, and is available as a fully SaaS product too.  Fling me an email regan dot murphy at Microsoft.com and i'll put you in touch with the CRM team at MS and/or a partner if you want to talk to someone further.  Are you a Microsoft AppDev partner (and using any of the benefits including free software)?  Using cloud services?  we should talk about that too :-)
