Anyone experienced any problems with Simplehost (simplehost.co.nz) lately? Their support -- once brilliant -- seems to have vanished and I can't reach anyone, by email or phone.

They seem to be related to The Web Company (same physical address, etc) and calling them gets no reply either, even hitting their New Business number.

Never heard of Simplehost, The Web Company rings a bell though.

Whats the problem you are experiencing?

Complete lack of support. Raised an issue with them at 2:00pm yesterday (no SSH access) expecting their usual 15-60 min response and didn't hear back till 9:00 last night. Then only "It should be working now. Please check and confirm." I did and it wasn't and I emailed them straight back. Since then, nothing. I've emailed more enquiries, to tech support, sales, and even tried calling. An automated answering system; I've left messages but no one's called back.

Interestingly, if you go to simplehost.co.nz it shows THE WEB COMPANY NZ LIMITED (NZ) as the verified address. They share the same physical address, and the name on the one and tech support email I received last night is Mishal Patel, who also shows up on The Web Company's page here: http://www.thewebco.co.nz/our-company/twc-staff/. However, trying to call TWC's 0800 number takes you to another automated messaging system that just drops your call whatever department you select.

I have a nasty feeling another web hosting company (or two) may be about to go down the gurgler.

Never heard of them. However that isn't a long time to wait. You say they seem to have vanished, but you did get a reply yesterday, so that doesn't sound like they have vanished at all. Things like that can take time to look into, and depends on how many other people they are supporting too, and with the news years break which some people are still on, it is a busy time of the year.. Also maybe you just expected a quick response based on previous replies? But things like that can change. Do you have a EULA that specifies support times?
