In SBS, when I go to configure password policies, I can tick the boxes, and change the values, but after I click "Ok", if I go back in, the values have disappeared, and are not retained.

Any clues?

Are you using the administrator account, or an account that has admin rights? And is there a Group Policy called SBS Domain Password Policy under the root of the domain?
