IronH:

everettpsycho: The buds pro came back in to stock this morning so I've cancelled and reordered. Had to switch to a new account as the $200 code wouldn't apply to my account again. Already got my original order refunded as well.

The new email didn't have an account set up so I'm not sure if I'm now eligible for the 5% rewards. Might have to love chat them but the orders not even showing up now I've made the account after making the purchase.

did your delivery date change? My order says shipping 24 feb, someone said those ordering now are getting a shipping date in march?

to get the 5% you had to tick a box. When ordering there were several tick boxes, one for agreeing to their t&c’s, one to accept marketing email etc, one of those tick boxes was also to get the 5% rewards. If you log into your account and look at your order, it should state the rewards you will be getting.

also from reading how their rewards program works it looks like the rewards come through 2 weeks after you’ve received your products, presumably to prevent those who return their orders from getting rewards.

I don't think it did but I only ordered Saturday night so was already waiting until march.

To get the rewards you just have to be enrolled in the program, my replacement order wasn't even a Samsung account let alone enrolled. I made it an account afterwards but live chat said they couldn't link the order to the account or apply the points so I've reordered again now I've enrolled and emailed to cancel the second order. Weirdly I could apply the code on this email despite being the second order on that email address.

I don't mind waiting in the rewards though, give me time to get used to the device and see if it's worth buying the 45W charger, wireless pad or a different case.

Reached out to live chat seems if you are after green S22 Ultra 256gb or 512gb maybe out of luck for a while. They don’t know when it’ll be in stock.

Gone with the Vodafone $400 off and a charger offer.not interested in the buds or any of the other gadgets. Time to retire the Huawei mate20pro after 3 years of solid service.

Just a note that Samsung Kiosks/Stores are also doing the preorder bundle offers, so if it's out of stock online maybe worth a shot giving them a try.

Korean YouTuber tests benchmark, heat, camera, battery etc

"We conducted various tests such as Galaxy S22, S22+, S22 Ultra battery end test, game fever test, and PPS high-speed charging benchmark. I also did a comparison test with Note 20 Ultra. I checked how long the battery lasts while actually playing Netflix videos. We put the screen brightness in the middle and created an environment for real life and tested it."

TLDW:
Battery test results:

Galaxy S22: 14 hours 57 minutes 27 seconds
Galaxy S22+: 17 hours 50 minutes 58 seconds
Galaxy S22 Ultra: 17 hours 59 minutes 19 seconds

My annoyance with Samsung deepens. They took the money for both my replacement orders, and I had emailed them requesting cancellation of the order places as a guest by mistake and keeping the one in my account as per their live chats response. Then one transaction just vanished from my card all together.

They have now updated the order I wish to keep to cancelled and the one I asked to cancel is still awaiting approval with the balance still on my card. Love chat also said they take up to 48 hours to respond. Talked to the guy in the Samsung kiosk at Westfield and he agreed the likely outcome is they won't place the cancelled order again, and they won't move the in flight order on to the account to get the rewards so I'll miss out on that.

My guess is they have an automated system that has cancelled my last order as a duplicate using the vouchers and details a second time on the same email, which I do get, but I followed every step their staff told me to do and to no avail to get a response before the automation did it for them. Just placing these orders has been infuriatingly frustrating that there's no way to get hold of the store reps directly.

The guy at Westfield was helpful but seemed very confused I hadn't just ordered the standard pack accessories they have on offer that are the same in store. Also worth knowing some stores still have release day stock unlike the online shop but they are running low. If you're after a particular SKU sold out online it might be worth trying a shop.

i found if you individually add bundle items exactly as the sold out bundles you will actually end up getting the bundle offer

It seems like the bundles are based on default black products. So if the black galaxy buds sell out so does the bundle. The site does ask you to select the colour when you add to basket but if Black's gone you can't reach that step. It's just poor site design.

Adding the galaxy buds and a silicone case works just fine. The buds+charger is the 25w charger as well so just go to the 25w chargers page and add it yourself as it's not listed on the chargers page when adding the phone. The voucher does only work on certain products, but it doesn't matter how you like those products in to your basket to order it.

In case anyone is interested, it Looks like NZ should be getting pre-installed screen protectors again according to Samsungs live chat today:

"Yes, the Galaxy S22 Ultra comes with a pre-installed screen protector. "

I'd heard some reports of other regions not getting them this time and had been trying to decide if I wanted to find a day-one protector or just getting brave and going with a naked screen on a new phone...

I wonder why a screen protector is required when the phone has a Gorilla Victus glass screen?

I have never been keen on screen protectors in case of loss of sensitivity when using the touch screen.... never ever scratched a screen.

Maybe the screen protector is required when using the stylus?

^ I haven't had major scratches but you do end up micro scratches if you look hard enough with the right angle of light. Depends on one's tolerance levels.

Asked Samsung kiosk staff if screen protector pre-installed they said didn't know until stock arrived.

When ordering s22 ultra on Samsung site seen accessories and forgot to order in case not pre-installed and searching for found at Noel Leeming only $25 which seems a good price.
