I have downloaded the 'One-click Lag fix' app from Android Market and I now have the screen shown below.

I am not sure what to do next and not sure what to do with this screen - would really welcome some advice.

First off you'll need to Root your device, so choose that. Once it has finished (will need a reboot I'm sure)-

Check Free Space (Note the amount, this will be the upper limit of the ext2 'partition' you can create, you'll want to use most/all of it for that purpose (since all apps will go into that partition).

Then Install EXT2 Tools

And finally do the OneClickLagFix (size the partition according to free space above)

You have to do them in that order, they only turn green once you fulfill the prerequisites.

Once you've done (the reboot may take some time after the last step so be patient and wait), test using Quadrant - if it has all gone well you should score 1700-2300.

To root it you run the root thing in the lag fix app and then turn your phone off you then turn it on whole holding up + home + power and then release power briefly once the samsung logo app hold it again.once the screen displays update.zip you use volume control to scroll down to it and press home key.

I installed the lagfix onmy JF3, it is nice.. smoothes out the phone UI a bit, so now I'm a bit more aware of why people thought the phone was laggy. Guess I was so accustomed to my iPhone on iOS4 that the Samsung seemed damn fast anyway.

Really want to update to JM1 or JM5 but can't get virtualbox and usb talking via my ubuntu host and windows guest.

My benchmark in Quadrant is now 2253 with the lagfix installed.
