Hi, I have a parrallel imported Samsung note 3 neo. The problem i have is that it keeps loosing reception intermitantly . It is especially bad at my home, only showing 1 bar of reception and sometimes nothing. I am on 2 degrees and i have a cell tower less than a kilometer from my house, both vodafone and 2 degrees. When reception is at it's worse i can't send txt messages. The phone is still under warranty, i took it back and they told me 2 degrees reception is not good and to try new sim card. Have since put 2 new cards in which made no difference. The shop sent my phone away and a month later i got it back saying no fault found, but they upgraded it to latest software. They still insist it's 2 degrees network.

While my phone was away i put my sim card into my old 3g galaxy ace plus which is also an imported phone. It constantly showed a full 5 bars of coverage at my home. So put my sim back in new phone, within 2 days no coverage again and phone says network not detected. Getting somewhat annoyed i bought a vodafone sim and put that in it. It does exactly same as 2 degrees, shows only 1 bar coverage and sometimes none.

Any body have any suggestions, before i take phone back again.  Swapping vodafone sim into old phone works fine.

Maybe it does not support the 3G 900Mhz band, What is the model number of the handset?

No way it's SIM card related this is the joys of buying imported hardware

Sounds like it doesn't support one of the vodafone/2gegrees channels.
Whats the exact model number? It should be something like SM-N750

Aside from reception, how do you find the phone? I used to have  a note 3, and when i heard of the neo i thought it sounded alright

EDIT: damn beaten by john by 1 minute :)

it's the sm-n7505.   Phone has been great apart from reception issues

The phone is 4G.  If i turn off the mobile data it makes no difference. Would turning off data make it just basic 2g?

On 2degrees (note 3 and note 4) I constantly find signal issues. Phone is on edge and useless when another one in the same area is showing 3 bars of 4G - Toggle airplane mode on the one thats useless and suddenly its back on 4G again.

Back on spark - no issues. Try a vodafone sim in it, again, no issues. Constantly good 3 or 4g signal.

Where do you get the information of that phone bands?

Can you give the exact bands it supported as per what written on the box?

Sounds like your area has weak 4G connection but your phone is keep trying to establish one.

Try switching your phone's network mode to 2G and 3G only (GSM/UMTS/WCDMA only).
You can do this under network setting or something similar.

No GSM arena is NOT a reliable source as sometimes they will lump together multiple version.

Gave us the exact model on the box and the exact bands supported as per on the box.

That means nothing really many things can block signal over a 1km area but as you say issue only happens with SIM in the N7505 so has to be handset related

I have given the correct model number off the box.  The box does not give the bands used.

sorry but i have mislead you. I wasn't putting phone on 2g properly. I only turned off mobile data and didn't switch band to straight gsm. My mistake. When on 2g i have full coverage,  switch back to lte,gsm coverage goes to 1 bar if i'm lucky. On 2 degrees and vodafone coverage maps it shows my house as having best signal.  Guess i will just have to run 2g at home ,have wifi anyway and switch to 4g when i'm out.
