Hi,

Wondering if anyone has come across this issue before and/or know if there is a quick fix which I can try before going down the repair route.

I've got a Samsung tab S4 which was purchased a while back that just randomly died one day (no software updates involved afaik). I've tried various boot options, different chargers, leaving it on charge overnight, etc but have had no luck so far. Has anyone come across the same/similar issue?

Try following the steps in this link and see if you can boot into recovery mode and then select reboot from there:

https://www.hardreset.info/devices/samsung/samsung-galaxy-tab-s4/recovery-mode/

If this still doesn't work then it's likely the tablet is somehow bricked.

Yep, did try this but unfortunately this did not work. Problem is I don't even get a Samsung boot logo

when you plug it in to power, is there any indication on screen at all?  Any lights?

Plug it into your PC - does your PC see it ? If so, probably screen died. Got similar tablet with that issue right now. Windows can see it and access the photos etc, but nothing on screen.

No indication of any life - not even a Samsung logo

So a quick update.

I didnt try plug it into a computer. Ended up sending it off to Samsung to get an analysis done. Technician came back saying motherboard requires replacement, does not state any specifics around why or what went wrong and obviously charging me for it. Quoted $250-ish for repair.

Anyone have any past experience dealing with a similar issue with Samsung? Whilst, yes the device is out of warranty, considering these cost a fair bit when they came out, is it too much to expect these devices to last at least 7-8 years provided they're looked after?

It was well looked after, been in a Samsung keyboard case, no physical or water damage, had any update available installed etc. Seems like an obvious quality control issue on Samsung end?
