VodafoneCB:johnr: 3 Months in front end systems before heading off to data warehouse and INFO is not as easy to get
Hi all,
unsurprisingly (again!) John was on the right track, ive just met with our Liaison team who handle these investigations for Vodafone, when requested by the police and other agencies.
They have confirmed that the info becomes increasingly difficult to source as time goes on and for this reason the information needs to be sought ASAP. Theres no hard and fast time frame (at this point in the conversation we veered off into Acronyms and compliance issues that I can’t really pretend to have understood) but if its already been 8months its unlikely that we could easily regather the information.

Thanks Chris. Yes, I have worked for telecommunications companies both in NZ and the UK and am aware that they usually have a team who deal with the Police (I have designed and documented many Business Processes for these teams). I was just a little unsure how long the information was retained for.
So it would appear we have hit a dead end and obtaining this information is very unlikely. This is quite frustrating for me as I advised NZ Police at the time of the crime that the sooner this information was requested the better (which is obviously nothing to do with VF NZ at all). It has taken Manukau Police 7 months to even start investigating and then a further month to start the process to obtain a search warrant. I realise NZ Police are under resourced and over worked and they have more serious crimes to deal with than a poxy car theft but still....
Thanks again everyone :)
