PLEASE DON'T SHOUT.

Just ask. If they say no, ask then to have it added.

Not when you buy the SIM, but on your account provisioning. But things happen.

You dont require the * APN to use pxt. You only require the live.vodafone.com APN and this is never removed from a connection.

Whats all the noise in here? oww my internet ears.

Yeah I've had similar troubles. The APN gives my phone beef when it comes to sending messages. Either I can PXT with the live.vodafone.net or whatever APN, but if i use www.vodafone.co.nz i think it is, or the internet one - then I cant PXT but I can gprs.  Can't you have multiple APNs? Whats the dial-string syntax if you have more than one APN on your phone? I have a Nokia 3220.

You should be able to video call "out of the box" so this is strange.

Your phone may be configured differently when generating PXT "SMIL" messages that may jam something in the network and corrupt perhaps? (Smil is a computer language script that glues the text, images and sounds together for MMS sending)

Buying of Trademe is kind of taking the law into your own hands. I have had no major issues as of yet with devices from the actual shop "parallel Imported" but some TM people may just bring in a couple of phones, flash in some screwy firmware into them and flick them off.

I have had an offshore "branded" phone send some very strange stuff on the network though GPRS before.
A friend bought a phone from a dodgy fly-by-night importer (again branded to an overseas network other than Vodafone) and discovered the firmware kept trying to download an over the air config config script by dialling a german CSD number which was drinking out his balance. most parallel imported phones are generally ok but you may get the odd screwup.

Okay, someone correct me if Im wrong but on bestmate you dont get PXT for free, is that correct?

I thought bestmate only included calls, texts and video calling?

My 2 centsWink

On account (You choose) bestmate includes PXT

http://www.vodafone.co.nz/plans/you-choose/bestmatesoa.jsp

Vodafone family does NOT include PXT

the problem lies within either your sim card (ie your account) OR the phones.
do what freitasm says to rule out one or the other and you have an end point then to persue.

if you put another sim card and it does pxt then it's your sim card. if you put your sim card in another phone and it pxts then it's the phones!
