freitasm: If anyone ever calls me and says "I am from [bank|other company]" I ask for a name and call the number *I KNOW* to confirm. I don't use any number they give me as it could easily be themselves just answering and saying "yes, it's from the bank".Fair point however I don't recall ever giving this person my full name, my pin, my address, my date of birth, my mothers maiden name. You will also see from my OP that this person successfully changed my pin three times prior to me receiving this suspect phone call.
Everyone needs to be very careful with identity theft these days.
The lady I spoke to at Vodafone support also said this was a legitimate call other wise I would have insisted on the spot that my security details were changed.
I'm actually sure that the call was legit because judging by the IQ of the people who are now texting my phone (thinking they are texting said thief), which seems to be barely double figures I doubt they would be smart enough to pull that off. I think it was someone from a Vodafone store.
