'Vote for Winston and his party' with 'vote for Dotcoms party'.

Fiscal policies?
Foreign policies ?
Defence policies
Economic and regional development policies ?
Social and Health policies?
Education policies ?
Environment policies ?

None of that stuff really matters under MMP. He can be a single issue party only interested in one specific area.

True, but none of that stuff matters anyway when the TPP comes into force. But for some reason there is nothing in the main stream media about it, I guess they have just run out of room ?

we were discussing this forum topic at lunch and I was told by a colleague that I should stop feeling so 'entitled' to privacy and that it was my sense of entitlement that was the issue, he asked me how I would feel if a terrorist took out a member of my family. I told him it would be worse if I couldn't talk to my family in private. anyway it turns out he was quite serious. This is getting pretty bad , people really are buying this rubbish despite it being found that it's having little if no impact at all on terrorism.

I think people really do believe that the GCSB is Norton Antivirus and that there are terrorists everywhere and that by monitoring us we will solve all the issues, this is fear mongering and frankly as a population we deserve better. So if Kim dot com love or hate the guy can get people talking about privacy , the TPP ( which will probably be the end of our software patent stance for that matter ) and the important fundamental issues as much as main stream media can get people talking about Miley &&^%$ Cyrus and her sledge hammer then surely that's a good thing.

I also see the US has just said no to net neutrality !, wow ! but hey the media don't really want you to know more about that either. crazy.

right, finish work, go home, watch some murders on TV, wonder where we are going wrong

I apologise for inadvertently stating that pensioners know nothing. I used it as an example and was clearly wrong.

your response was posted whilst I was doing mine. Actually the whole post was rubbish the part you apologised for was offensive to me.

They don't all vote for Winston I can assure you so no need for the generalisations to make your point.

Those two things are very important to that group. Far more important than asset sales, the TPP or GCSB. Winston knows his stuff and so does his support base.

Most old folks that I know put spending time with their kids or grand kids at the top of their list and free public transport helps a lot more with that than scrapping the TPP.

On the issues...he is spot-on.

There is no deception in this......unless you're talking about the lies the government has been telling with respect to their illegal spying.

As for Dotcom's Party...I won't be voting for it. Several other established parties already have that ground well covered....especially the greens...and supporting yet another party only weakens the whole side by risking fragmenting it.

But if the idea is that such a party can be a useful platform for publicising these issues....then that's great. But I won't be wasting my vote on his party.

Yes, the issues are huge and people are mostly ignoring them. Overreaching state, uncalled for breach of privacy, corporate greed taking over policies, etc.

But I don't consider him the person to represent me on this front.

That's all I can say.
