Stan: Is it possible to have VDSL my profile reset?
Jase2985: its not that bad though, but kinda to be expected.
i dont think chorus took into account those who wanted better uploads over higher downloads

@Jase2985 , read this... Chorus didn't do any of this because people wanted higher download speeds.

Here's the headline point for you:
"New Zealand is currently the only country which uses the 997 VDSL band plan creating a high risk of New Zealand becoming an orphan in a world which has migrated to the 998 VDSL band plan"
Cheers - N

All I can say is it's quite disappointing
VDSL Band Plans The 998 VDSL band plan is more asymmetric, meaning higher download speeds (at the expense of lower upload speeds) compared to speed achieved under the 997 band plans. Customers could expect to see faster download speeds if NZ transitioned to the 998 band plan with little impact on upload speed as the upload speed of the 997 if limited by profile to 10Mbps.
(little impact my butt I lost 3Mbps up and considering I only had 10Mbps to start with this shouldn't have gotten any worse than it was already....)
The most widely supported plan is 998ADE which is actually the least symmetrical. Note that 997 is asymmetric, just less so than 998. Given that most countries are using 998ADE, symmetric services provided must be within the bounds of what can be delivered via 998ADE.

networkn: Anyone else seeing lots of DSL instability after upgrading? My internet has been atrocious over the past 3 days, I have seen according to my ISP 20 spontaneous loss of syncs in 24 hours which has seen my line go from 65/12 to 70/30 then 69/14 69/16 69/19 68/21!
Some of my outages look more like ppp drops which last a matter of 5 seconds. ( I know because RDP requires a continuous stream).
mercutio:Theclaytons: My latency has gone from FAST FAST (on the Fritzbox) to 8ms and 1ms for down/up
what's your INP saying?

INP is saying 1 and 1

It really might just be noise while lines adjust, and it may go back to INP 0 and drop back to DLM-1 in one go or with some more 4 am syncs :)
