Or you could just look at Apple's website directly: http://www.apple.com/nz/iphone-5s/ (top right corner of the page)

pennells: So... any speculation as to when online orders will open?  Midnight on the 24th?  I am determined to get my hands on one as soon as I can!

Thinking back to when I ordered my 4S two years ago I think sales went live around midday but Apple's web site was really struggling to handle demand at that stage. I ended up wishing I'd waited until a bit later in the afternoon, even if it meant my shipping time slipping by a day or two.

I would much prefer it if we could go somewhere like JB Hifi and buy one outright on the day, but it sounds like that's not going to happen.

From memory the 4S launch was the first time T/Com were an officially supported network by Apple, so I suspect they spent considerable effort to ensure they had reasonable stocks,

This time they are just "little people" like VF, so their stock is pretty much at the whim of the almighty Apple.....

Why is a parallel importer selling the iphone 5c cheaper than what it will be when the phone gets officially launched in NZ. i thought they would put a premium on it?

Don't be so harsh on the 5c :P

I'm thinking a pink one might be an awesome xmas gift for my 8yo to replace her ipod, the plastic shell will probably take the knocks and bangs a bit better than a 5s in the hands of a child too

A 5C would be a great option for my wife, if it wasn't so expensive.

I think $699-$799 would be a much more reasonable price point for it (after all, you can pickup a Galaxy S4 in that price range).

At $899, I'd just spend the extra $150 and get the 5S (I think she'd like the gold one).

The wife will get a 5s to replace her 4s, the camera being the key reason..

I am in two minds on the 5c for the daughter though, can't decide whether a ipad or iphone is of more use, am leaning toward the ipad, either way come the 25th October if the iphones are being offered with a nice subsidy as per the 4s release then i will grab a 5c to on-sell and subsidise an ipad lol

My wife needs a new one, so am thinking the 5c at $799 as a 5s would be $250 more. $150 more and it would be a 5s no worries but $250 is starting to be a big saving. How good it the camera on the 5s over the 5c as that is something she will be using heaps.

Demeter: Hi Satch - sounds like a pretty poor experience, sorry about that. Not sure what's with the inaccurate information... I would really like to follow up on this if you don't mind. Could you please private message your customer account details to me so I can look into this further and pass feedback?

Hi,

I left you two PMs with you over the past week or so but haven't heard back.  If you are still really keen to follow this through then would you mind calling my girlfriend on the number supplied before COB Tuesday 22 October as we fly out the following morning and are in Sydney for the NZ launch.  If not then please just flick me a message so we know.

Cheers.

Sorry about the delay in getting back to you - I was away and wasn't checking my email or forums so I only got your message today. I'll have this followed up for you ASAP.

Ordered a 5S from Vodafone for the boss but not going to get one from the first lot, how disappointing!
