Hi how have you managed to order one from Vodafone ?

Queue in style with Vodafone’s VIP treatment

Technology lovers wanting to be among the first in New Zealand to get their hands on the latest iPhones will be treated as VIPs at Vodafone’s launch events. Vodafone will be selling the iPhone 5s and iPhone5c from 12.01am Friday, 25 October, and is hosting a Pyjama Party from 6pm Thursday 24 October.

The first four iPhone customers to arrive at Vodafone’s Lambton Quay store will be allocated their own VIP tent with butler service, refreshments, a survival kit and priority service.

Everyone who has officially registered in Vodafone’s queue to purchase an iPhone 5s or iPhone 5c will also go in the draw to win a trip for four to Rhythm and Alps in Queenstown, including flights and accommodation. Terms and conditions apply.

Launch events for the new iPhones will also be held in Auckland, Christchurch and Dunedin from 6pm on Thursday 24 October.

Lucky you are even in the queue. As per my earlier post, my GF was told by VF after the VF media announcement that they won't be launched until next year! Despite trying to get more accurate info from VF and calling for help from VF people here on GZ, no one seemed to be interested to help.

We are off to Sydney tomorrow morning first thing so we will have to now wait until next week to get on and sort of queue, and who knows how long the line will be by then! Kinda makes me wonder why she wants to stay with VF after this sort of abysmal service...

Satch - bought one at the apple store on George st on Thursday. Plenty in stock. Go before 1230 as it gets busy around lunchtime. You can get your GST back through the TRS at the border.

Thanks for the heads up and I was going to get one for myself this way, but I decided not to as I didn't want to lose my warranty.

When you say plenty, I guess you are talking about the space grey model only?

Not sure on the 5s colours - I got a 5c and they had to get them from storage but the 5S they had in massive stacks under the counter.

On a side note I didn't really worry too much about the warranty for the $150 saving. I figured if I have any trouble I could always take it back to the store there (but I am over there a few times per year)

I'll have to weigh up saving $150 vs the risk I might have to claim on the warranty (which I've never needed to do with the three iPads and two iPhones I've owned, buy Murphy's Law you know...), vs the cost and hassle to ship it back to Australia if something goes wrong.

I'd perhaps consider it if they have a silver 32GB in stock...

You can defintely get warranty for iPhones bought in Australia while in NZ, I've had my iPhone 5 (bought in Australia) replaced just fine.

We are on a business account.

I call my account manager and tell him what I need, he gets it and drops it off to me!

Also, the Apple site has been updated with the "buy" page for the iPhone 5S and 5C.

Apple prepping up for launch on the 25th I'd say - All the options there but greyed out at the moment, the shipping dates show as "unavailable"
