I can't see anything that suggests you can't buy on contract and pay the remainder of the phone off on 24mths interest free? Only stipulations looks to be the original price of the phone must be $199 or greater

cathy88: Telecom does open term contract and 24 months interest free on phone. It's pretty much same as buying outright

will I be able to change to 2 degrees? and also, how much does it cost to cancel your plan?

Free to cancel plan, but must pay off the phones full price to cancel the plan (i.e the remaining months of the interest free)

Not on these phones tonight though right?

Yes. It is. That's what I bought

Thanks Cathy (presumedly you "pre-buy" what you want in the queue huh?)  Hmmmm, maybe I should pop over to town then!

Prices are up on the Apple NZ site but the phones are not available for order yet.

If you take up a phone on an ULTRA 24 Month plan you can pay the remaining cost of the phone after subsidy over 12 or 24 Months Interest Free providing the price AFTER subsidy is $199 or higher.

Also for Initial launch of iPhone 5S/5C they will only be available to:

- New Connections on ULTRA 24 Month plans
- Existing customers out of contract (can buy out early if still in contract) and signing into a new ULTRA 24 Month plan
- Existing customers on Open plans moving to a ULTRA 24 Month plan
- New Connection onto an ULTRA OPEN plan with 24 Month Interest Free payments (compulsory, cannot pay upfront)

I managed to get through on Telecom, unable to buy it on a open plan though, just on a 2 year contract.

I don't get telecoms 5s offer -- they lock you into a 24 month contract and you must pay full price?

Looks rather blah to me .

Think this happened last year as well, was only in the wee hours that ordering opened up.

I guess 25 October for them means 25 October in Cupertino :/

That is a bad deal for sure. Buy it from Apple and you will be able to use Apples excellent services for support. They are replacing my iPhone 5 because of a flimsy power button and I am having a replacement delivered on my doorstep.
