Interestingly another company that looks like it was run by our friend has now been put into liquidation - http://www.business.govt.nz/companies/app/ui/pages/companies/2245331/documents

kona333: I bet Caleb wishes he sold it to begin with instead of letting it turn to custard first. Could have made some decent money at the beginning of 2014.

I'm happy to get away from there though. No more shared hosting on a slow server :D

Web Drive attempted to acquire 24/7 last year but Caleb showed no interest. In hindsight he should have taken the opportunity.

Daniel,

At that time things have been well with 24/7. You don't see those bashing from their customers here or in FB, maybe a few. Because Caleb was running the show and he is answering our emails.

He is in jail now and things have been messy because his GF attempted to salvage the business and she proves to be not competent. They should have sold it right away.

You guys should remove that part in the 24/7 holding page that say 'flexihost is not associated with 24/7' since the two are both under WD.

Quick question..

I paid for a service months and months ago which I never received from 247 hosting.

247 owed me a refund which they never paid me and all I got was broken promises. Who's responsibility is it to see these refunds through? Is it Mel, the owner at the time I paid for my service or do the new owners take on previous debts?

Can't answer sorry as I'm no longer with Web Drive (post Digiweb acquisition)
I'd suggest email support@flexihost.co.nz for advice.

I have just tried to flexihost phone the number and it tells you to press a number to go to the right department, and it doesn't go through, and the intro message just keeps repeating. Tried from both a landline and mobile.

Has anyone else tried the number on their website and been to successfully get through? I am not sure it isn't my phones or a problem at their end. It is the one that says welcome to openhost, hosting direct and flexihost.

Ah yeah... I would give it up mate.
Despite people saying the were alright 12 months ago, that is not the case. I got a refund last year after 12 months of threatening action but it came in form of a credit to my account - whoopie... There is obviously no money in the coffers and no likelihood of reperation. If the IRD are after them (and they are for at least 35k) then anybody else would be way down the chain even if there was any loot.

Bringing up information about that company Hostbee ( http://www.hostbee.co.nz/ ) mentioned earlier:
http://www.gpforums.co.nz/threads/500782-be-aware-hostbee-hosting

Apparently saying they offer a refund, rescinding on it and then changing their terms and conditions in the background. Google cache caught them out.

You may want to remove their URL from your post, as google ranking benefits.

Oh really? Won't it bring this page up if people search for it?

So what ever happened with caleb anyway... has anyone looked him up since? I wonder if he tried to re-enter IT or start another hosting company.

Possibly.  But to have URL on a popular website like this one can help with google  rankings. It's why a lot of spammers like to spam website forms and forums with URL links.
