Kinda hard to say. My SGS is running well (and should continue to do so if I can resist the urge to flash it repeatedly), so I guess I'm a bit spoiled at present. There are frankly so many cool next generation phones about to hit the market that I think the best option will be to wait for the reviews and put off deciding on what I'll choose for an upgrade until my VF contract is up in November.

Meantime, the SGS2 certainly seems to be a nice device, marred only by the less than stellar reputation of its maker for such things as updates and response to bugs.

All I can say for sure is that we're going to be spoilt for choice very soon, and that the Android multiverse is an exciting one to be in.

Cheers,
R2D2

Galaxy S has gone to its new owner. HTC Sensation has gone to its new
owner. Galaxy S3 has gone to its new owner. Now using Galaxy Note 3. Skipping Note 4 I think...

Ooooh, very tempted to do a preorder, but going on an overseas trip in April/May for few weeks, so saving money for that.

Is the SGS II available on two internal memory versions, 16GB and 32GB? If so I'd go for the 32GB version, adding that to my 32GB micro SD, I will have heaps of storage at my disposal.

I would not expect the 32GB version to be readily available, the high capacity SGS1 (16GB) became an exclusive locked to carriers, and only months after its release became available unlocked. I would guess the same will happen here.

I'll be happy enough with 48GB with my current 32GB microSD card I think :)

Hmmm...

Appears there may be two versions of the SGSII in the offering?

http://www.gsmarena.com/does_samsung_have_a_tegra_2_galaxy_s_ii_i9103_in_line_too-news-2335.php

Hopefully the information will become clearer in the next few weeks.

Some new shots and example photos and video at GSmarena, looking good.

Regards more than one version - this is definite - if you check the specs at the official site you'll see that Super AMOLED Plus and the CPU are asterisked and the explanation is that they may differ in some markets. Samsung have already done this with the Nexus S, which uses a Super Clear LCD screen, rather than Super AMOLED, in some markets. I didn't really think that was news worthy, since it was quite obvious given their recent practices and the information on the specs sheet. The UK and Korea at least will get all the top spec hardware, being the first release markets, so I'm confident that my order from the UK will be just fine.

EDIT: Put my order through now. Anyone who has questions feel free to ask here, I will post a review once I get it in my hot little hands.

Already seeing Super Amoled now on the Galaxy S Laughing

The likes of the upcoming Infuse and Galaxy S II feature Super Amoled Plus screen technology.

Ordered from Clove, total was something horrendous like 470 quid, may yet be subject to change.
