jakenz: Who knows. Confirming Legal business ownership can be a murky thing in nz. Could be sole trader, partnership, Ltd co but trade name can have no relation to this... so hard to nail down. For the record I tried looking into this back in Oct 2010 but got ambiguous results from companies office.

From what he told me they used to have buisiness in CHCH and sold it, so they are different owners. I suppose he just took the website design with him.

Ive been following this tread a while, I decided not to go with mobicity because for some reason I didnt trust them. Now ive just read all about the things they are (or may not be) doing wrong.

Ive been waiting to find a NZ supplier. Tho did have a look at clove and a couple of other suggested one's
I found the phone on the exishopping website, I emailed them asking how there stock was. I had a reply in less then an hour saying out of stock, expected next week.

They txt me yesterday (friday) saying that they would have stock in on the 20th and if i was interested to let them no as stock would be limited.

I will be going with them. there website clearly stats under contents '1 year RTB warranty'  even if i have to pay more then the imported ones, i know im covered by that and the consumers act.

I just ordered from http://www.unlocked-mobiles.com/ .. they're based in the UK.
The SGS2 16GB was 419 GBP, and shipping was 19 GBP.  The purchase isnt showing up on my internet banking yet, but the available balanace has gone down by $920.43. Hopefully thats pretty accurate. I chose this shipping: International - Int Signed For (Royal Mail) (Flat Rate). Now I just gotta wait and see if I get stung by customs. I wasnt sure which shipping option to choose to evade them lol. The other shipping option was a lot more expensive..

Both Ezibadget and Ezishopping have the same storefront photo on their websites.
Ezigadet says contact Daniel Kim
Ezishopping says contact Daniel Kim

Why do they claim to be unrelated?

Might call before I part with my $.

Cheers,
Stephen

FYI: Handtec one is Quad freq, so works on ANY NZ teleco.  Make sure NZ suppliers are suppling you with same. Gives you maximum opptions for teleco supplier. A lot only sell Vodafone ones, as they are cheaper (more are made).

Handtec I found were great.

I read on the GPNZ forums that someone asked at JB hifi about it.. They said they'll be getting it halfway through next month like Vodafone (obviously), but will have it on special for 900$. Doesn't seem right to me, but I may call them today to confirm/deny. Unless someone else has already..

No need to check as all SGS2 phones will have quad-band 3G. This includes the 850MHz frequency used by Telecom and the 900/2100 frequencies used by Vodafone/2degrees. (The same as with the iPhone 4.)

From my time working in the Credit Card division of one of the major banks, I can tell you a merchant is not entitled to pass the credit card charge to the purchaser *until* the goods have been sent. Like you I can see my available balance being adjusted which I presume is nothing more than ULM ensuring the credit card hasn't been reported stolen and the funds are available.

I'm looking forward to seeing the charge on the card because if the Visa/MasterCard rules are still the same, it'll indicate the phone has been shipped.

I was surprised to read about someones techbrand experience. I purchased a Motorola Defy and other than a delay in shipping which they sent me a voucher to cover, everything was excellent.

As the the old saying does "If it's too good to be true, then it's probably not." There would have to be a huge catch somewhere.

Certainly keep an eye out.
