K1000716:
Brendan: FAQ UPDATE:

Have just updated the FAQ with some basic info on modem selection and flashing.

I'd like a few reviews of modems you are using and what you recommend - include signal strength and battery usage. I'll add it into the faq.

I'm currently using the KH3 modem, and I find it works quite well in a semi rural area. Signal can be weak though, battery use is good.

This doc SGS2 radio has some interesting stats about the ke7 and kf2 modems - anyone tried these? Power hungry?

Thanks!

Can you add Hellcats Companion Tool to the EFS back-up section?  It's an app based tool and is considerably easier to use than the adb method.

Done.

Almost had it 2 weeks.

lol - quick turnaround. . . . ;-)

Yeah. Got it "free" for signing a 24 month contract and I prefer my LG Optimus 3D (and I have the HTC Sensation, too, with its 8mp camera).

So one phone too many. Now I just got munneez.

Just curious - what do you prefer about the LG? I always liked my LG monitors lol.

No. Samsung stupidly opted for a lesser audio chip than in the sgs 1.

Samsung thought "It's not as if anyone else will have a better sound chip in their phone. Apple are notorious for having poor sound chips!"

5 minutes later there was a "opps..."...

For anyone interested my 64GB microSDXC card should arrive during this week, apparently compatible with the SGSII if formatted Fat32, will confirm or refute in due course...

I liked the voodoo app because you could increase the gain by 10db. I see there's a lot of volume management apps but what's the best one for increasing the gain?

The LG Optimus 3D has a 3D display and dual 5mp cameras for 3D photos and 720p HD 3D video. You don't need glasses to see 3D content or play 3D games. Several games come with the phone.

I'm kinda into 3D in a big way at the moment....so the phone is perfect for me. It takes reasonable quality pics and vids and you can edit the images on the phone. As an on-the-run backup for my Fujifilm FinePix Real 3D W3 digital camera...It does the job very well.

The LG Optimus 3D II is due out in the next few months. I can't see myself not buying it. I know 3D isn't for everyone....but for me it's becoming a must-have feature.

The LG also claims to have "tri-dual" technology: Dual-core, dual-channel, dual-RAM. Whatever it is, this phone looks just as good in operation as my HTC Sensation....and looked slightly slower than the SGSII,  but in absolute terms is more than fast enough. Whatever...despite dual-core 1GHz and 512MB of RAM....there isn't much of a difference in performance.

$200US direct from Sandisk. I've had the money saved for quite a while, I actually expected the price to be higher since thats the same price the 32GB cards had at release.

Ouch, that's a bit, but I guess I expect that. I was thinking of getting a 32GB card (currently have a 16GB) but may hold fire for the moment. I suppose if the price drops over the next 3 or 4 months, might be cost effective.

Hang on, $200 US. Ah, maybe I will stick with a 32GB instead.

Yep, they are very expensive right now. If you can live with 14+32 than no reason to consider getting one of these now. I'm always needing more storage, 14+32 lasted me well for a while, but now my internal storage is full and my external storage has like 300MB free, and even then I've taken off nearly all of my PSX isos and videos. This will free me to use the device how I want with fewer compromises (providing it actually works, so far only one user report that I'm aware of!). If it doesn't then I would imagine my next handset will handle it, and until then it'll be the most expensive pen drive evar!

Why don't you guys just get a normal pen drive? smaller, reliable, more convenient and above all much much cheaper than buying memory cards..

If you can carry usb cables around for transferring big files, surely you can carry a tiny as 64gb pen drive for  bugger all money.. :P

Because the stuff I want to do with the phone requires the memory to be onboard.
