JB doesn't support ICS kernels yet
d3Xt3r: W00t! I'm finally able to dual-boot CM10 (secondary) with ICS (primary; Omega 15)!
I'm using Talustus kernel which supports dual-booting between JB/ICS ROMs. And for those never heard of Talustus - Talustus's kernels are built from Siyah's sources, but with additional tweaks (like a new recovery), and *way* quicker updates. I used to beta test them for Talustus for a while now but always went back to Siyah because back in the day, Gokhanmoral used to push out S2 Siyah updates quite frequently and so Talustus was always a step behind. Now it appears that GM is focusing more on S3 these days. Luckily Talustus is still loyal to the S2; and he's also a developer and not just a merge-and-build operator, so he can implement quick fixes. And he's very reachable on IRC. ;) He has also been generous enough to give me developer access to his git repo, so if need be I could always merge a patch or build the kernel myself. :D
Oh, almost forgot: here's the download link:

I'm genuinely curious as I've never had any use for a dual boot kernel (despite having them installed several times) it and wonder what people actually do with it, other than bragging points.
Still very happy with CM10 on the S2, running very nicely and I'm still on the initial 20120725 build. I have switched to the later 20120726 GApps (inverted, stock) which gives you the enhanced notification bar features and proper JB 4.1.1 apps.

I've always had genuine reasons to dual-boot on my phone:
1) My primary ROM is my main OS with all the bells and whistles including a nice LWP showing off the full potential of the S2; the secondary ROM has only the bare essential apps and services and lots of tweaks aimed at maximizing battery life. When I'm running low on battery or I'm not actively using my phone, I just reboot into the lighter ROM. Even if I'm at say just 5% of my battery while using my primary, rebooting into the secondary is enough to safely take me home and last till the morning. :)
Sure I can tweak my primary as well - which I have to an extent - but then with a dual-boot approach I don't have to compromise in either scenarios. I can have the full shebang on my primary and I can go to the extreme extra mile on the secondary - even at the expense of functionality and speed. I get best of both worlds. :)
2) The other scenario is of course to play around with new ROMs. Thanks to dual-booting I never have to bother with backing up my existing setup, and I can simply flash a new ROM without a second thought. I can't even remember the last time I had to a nandroid backup. :)

Thanks!
I've never delved very deeply into it and appreciate the great responses. It's actually got me to thinking it'd be handy doing the same myself now. ;)
I've been a fan of the CM builds for a while, seeing them as the future for most (supported) devices. The only hassle with CM10 is video playback (JB is only software accelerated at the moment) and the loss of MHL. Based on what you have said I might strip a Samsung rom to it's barest state and run one dual-booted (any rom suggestions welcome).
Might have to do an internal sdcard wipe first though, mine is getting a little messy. Will then switch to RR v3 and whatever sammy rom I decide on.
Betraying my near total ignorance of dual booting (appears I have a great deal of reading to do...) do the sms apps in both roms pick up all messages, or are they totally separate?
On another note, I recall reading something on XDA over the weekend about devs looking at binding the external sd card into the system properly, to effectively combine it with the internal memory. It seems like a great idea as I've only removed mine once in the last 14 months. It'd be nice to have 48Gb of internal memory - no more hassles with the internal memory filling up without me realising it.

Damager:
Hey Lee
Yeps, totally separate roms, basically think of having 2 phones, but accessing the same internal/external sd cards.
You could go airplane mode while experimenting on the second rom, so when you go back to your daily driver, it picks up the SMS waiting.
Haven't used it lately though as I got another S2 which I've been using to test roms on.
Damager: Hey guys,
If I triangle away, and then flash a stock rom. Will the flash counter be 0 or 1?? 9100T.
