Hi,
I have the Saturday Herald delivered and every so often someone is pinching it out of my letterbox. As I live down a long right of way, about a hundred metres from the letterbox, I don't think it's possible to use a standard wireless security camera, to catch the thief, and to be honest I can't be bothered buying one and setting it up
So my idea is to buy an android cellphone, as I need a smartphone anyway, hide it in an adjacent hedge and stream the footage, using telecoms 3g network, to a web streaming site, like justin.tv. so I, or my partner can check it via the intrnet. To keep costs, and bandwidth down when uploading the footage I obviously need the footage to be low quality, black and white and slow like a frame a second. Is it possible to do this? Will a wireless broadband connection be fast enough? Can you adjust a cellphone to shoot slow, low quality, black and white footage?
BTW I'm sure I know who it is and I have no intention of going to the police so all I need is an image that is clear enough to identify the person to me.
BTW this is a great forum a lot of times when I google about a problem this forum often provides the best NZcentric info.
Thanks for any help on this matter
