Oh man....I hope their customer service isn't always like this.

I signed up to the new uncapped plan last Friday the 20th, and had received no confirmation or estimated date etc.

Gave them a call today to see what the deal is, waited on hold for 30 minutes and got through to a rep. He could find NO details of my signup from the Friday on their system and acted like it was entirely my own fault. I explained how I spent 30 minutes signing up and going through it all, and I suggested that maybe their rep had done something wrong in not storing my details. He was pretty keen to act like it was all my fault saying "our system doesn't work that way you must not have signed up" etc.

After a wee bit of an argument, he told me he would sign me up again, only to hangup on me mid sentance. I had given him my cellphone number etc, but he didn't call me back....so I called slingshot again.

This time I got a lady saying their call volume is too high, and that I'm not allowed to sit on hold and wait for someone, they would just give me a callback this afternoon.

So now my SNAP internet is being canceled and disconnected, and Slingshot have no record of me signing up to them.

THANKS Slingshot, I hope this crap gets sorted today, and I hope this isn't a forboding sign of your customer service.

Regards,

An already disgruntled customer before I'm even connected!

Lol! I would have thought they would have been really onto it, seeing as they are stealing me from another ISP (aka the kind of customer they want).

Maybe not....

Thought previous threads on Slingshots terrible customer service would've been an indication...

Nope...

Spoke to a rep they said it will probably take a few days before I'm given an account number, and if I re-signup to guarantee it, it will probably cause a duplicate in their system (that they cant see me in) and muck everything up.

I guess I'll just call in a few days and see if I'm truelly lost or if im not!

And so it begins, before you're even on the plan. This is going to be interesting to watch.

I've been with Slingshot for years and I have to say - the best experiences I have had with them are when I don't need to interact with them.

Ive been with them all year and had mostly good responses from their CSRs and found them to be helpful, but have noticed two major themes that seem to repeat:
- CSRs not all being up to date with all their promos, thus unable to help you or give the wrong answers
- (from comments on GZ incl the OP) Problems with them not saving peoples details - this seems to happen far too often

Yes there is something to be desired with their level of customer service; the ones I have spoken to seem to be clueless.

If their CS is so terrible why do people use them? Whats the point of complaining about their CS, when you already know what it is like from other peoples experiences. You get what you pay for.

I use them because they are cheap. CS may suck but to be honest they have been fine when I have used them prettymuch.

yep thats why i signed up with them they were cheap, their PHONE service is crap but dealing with them
online through twitter N here has been a help but that's not a good thing
having to come online to complain to get help pretty sad when you can't call and talk to someone

if i were you id keep searching other isp's I've only been with them since July 9th my first bill
is horrendous you gotta pay the bb within a cpl days of it being turned on until
your pay period comes along...
and even then you end up paying that plus double on your first bill at least thats what
happened to me, I paid 3xmonths worth of broadband & only had 1.5months of use
so all in all me canceling my telecom that was 10$ more a month but was FS/FS with good
CS to slingshot 10$ cheaper FS/slow upload, bad customer service paying 3x over what
I was told was NOT worth the change wish I had bout 200 bucks just sitting there to pay
for early termination i'd call them tomorrow and cancel
my homeline and bb & go back to telecom never had problems with them and
was worth a few dollars more

i suggest u read more of the feedback on here for answers..

Your money management isnt slingshots concern, and the norm is that you are invoiced in advance for the monthly component of the bill. Slingshot are a bit unusual in that they will often require payment of it before signing up, but IMO that is the sensible way of doing things, not how other ISPs do and let you pay the first month afterwards.

Looking at their landline pricing they are pretty poor for that, which combined with the 24 month term is really making me think twice about moving to them.
