mjb125b: I have a TX-NR609 purchased from JB Hi Fi in 2012.
Worked fine until a couple of weeks ago, then intermittent and eventually total loss of audio.
I've been in touch with Avalon audio, they will do the repair but want to charge $98 as the subsidy from Onkyo doesn't cover their costs.
I don't expect Avalon to work for free but I am interested in the CGA angle here. If the product has a known faulty part leading to failure shouldn't it be recalled / repaired?
This is a manufacturing defect rather than usual wear and tear.
Any thoughts?
