No not yet. haven't had a call or text. The original confirmation txt I got about 24 hours after ordering (on release day) said 15th Jul 8am - 12PM.

You can see DLM forced re-syncs in the Event log on the Technicolor modem. To verify what DLM you are on you will need to Telnet onto the device and issue this command: xdsl info expand=enabled

Thanks. I don't see any forced resyncs but the Technicolor Event Log only shows the last 20 items or so, so maybe resync happened earlier.

Two questions:
1. Any way to see older Events on Event Log?
2. I am new to TelNet. I have just added to my Windows 7 machine. When I Telnet 192.168.1.254 it gives me "username?" and then "password?" I just hit enter as to my knowledge no username or password on the new VDSL modems. However, I get a quick error message (invalid username/password) and can't TelNet any further. Suggestions please.

The username is Administrator, password is blank (hit enter).

The resyncs for me happen around 4:11am. I don't think I had any for a few days when first connected, then they were two days apart. Now seem weekly or even further apart.

From memory it took about 10 days to make it all the way to DLM-1 on my connection.

Currently:
DLM Profile: DLM-1
Approx distance from cabinet: 450-500m
Attenuation (Down): 11db
Sync speed (Down): 48274
Sync speed (Up): 10341

The technician will be there this morning to complete the wiring for your connection.

Ordered online an upgrade to VDSL. Anything I can do to make it easier for the tech? I have no idea where any of the phone lines are coming into my house but I have phone lines going all over the house.

Will they make me a new phone from outside house to modem? i dont care for any of the other jacks in the house. just need awesome inet

Hi, most chorus guys now have 3d printers in the van, so no problem with making you a new phone while he rolls a ciggy.

Depending on the wiring layout they may create a clean pair thorugh the existing house wiring to your modem, alternatively and often easier they will run a complete new line from the demarc to modem, either way the results will be the same.

Thanks much. I think I am likely on DLM-6. Can't see DLM specifically (with TelNet) but looks like 8ms and 2 INP from data provided. Am I translating that correctly?

No resets to my knowledge. Modem has been up for 21 hours straight (had to reset yesterday when Telecom removed ADSL speed limitation). Hopefully, will see a change over next few days as error rate currently seems very low. Will let you know. Thanks.

Chorus tech came today as scheduled. Gone from 12 down 1 up to 25 down 9 up. Currently sitting on DLM2.

I'd heard that Chorus was being a bit more lenient now... maybe it's true! I need to fix my wiring (currently at 26.5 dB when Chorus estimates say it should be between 13 and 18) but then I'll place an order and see what happens. I know that upstream gets the benefits first and that's what I'm most interested in.

Yep, I tried to talk with the Chorus Man, but he was not hugely talkative (some like to discuss, others like to do job and go home :/). I mentioned to him that the tests Michael had done indicated Attenuation of 17.5 to the roadside (my modem was showing about that too). He wondered how they could just stop the test at the roadside, surely it goes all the way to the modem/house wiring??

He said fitting a master splitter should sort my attenuation, as my wiring goes:

Road -> ETP -> Master Phone Jack (which after reno's is now on the wall behind my fridge) -> secondary phone jacks daisy chained off this - on one of which (I think either the second or third of three) is my phone and ADSL router.

Hopefully it does, as I'd really like VDSL.
