48 hour lead times? I expect Telecom will be issuing credits to customers left with no phone then.

this is a bit like the scenario in the move 'Cable Guy'. When everyone in the movie lost thier cable tv they had to do other things like reading books/talking to thier partners......is the same thing happening to us unconnected XT users????

Actually I'd like to congratulate Telecom staff on what seems (to me) to have been a largely successful rollout.

I know that people worked tireless hours yesterday. In my nearest Telecom store, they worked pretty much all day. I didn't see one of them take a break, and they were on and off their feet dealing with people all day. I saw a few new connections walk out those doors and didn't see a single one come back.

Most people with new XT phones I've talked to are up and running just fine. For those of you who aren't - sucks to be ya! Shame it can't be perfect for everybody. Having said that, with 48 hour lead times, the least they can do is apologise and offer credit.

Kudos to Telecom frontline staff who, in many ways, make it all happen.

Hey all,
The provisioning teams are coping with the massive demand and putting orders through as quickly as possible.
The launch day exceeded everyones even most optimistic expectations.
For those looking for a few facts and figures:
Over 200 hundred people lined up outside Chch and Hamilton stores before opening
Phones were being ordered online at a frenetic rate of one per minute
Extra staff were brought on for launch day including quadrupling the mobile dealer support team
Further staff were brought in on Friday afternoon and were still provisioning late into the night and early this morning.
At the moment the expected connection time is 24 hours, if you haven't been connected in that time please contact 123. Your other handset should continue to work during this period, I know some of you have had problems with that. Again if your current one is not working please contact 123.
These connections are being treated with the highest priority, I can assure you!

So my best recommendation right now is a little patience and perhaps you spend the time transferring contacts, checking the camera and/or video functions or using WiFi if you have it

Thanks to all of you for you support and messages of encouragement late last night, it really helped :)

Hi Karen,

What can those of us with Business (even Home Business) accounts do? Last time I called *123 they said that only the business support team can help, and they're a Monday to Friday 9 to 5 Except Public Holidays department!

Is anybody else here beyond the 24hours after they purchased or their current handset has stopped working?
If so PM me your details and I can get someone to contact you to see if we can help.
