@nathan So, I'd love to provide MS with the feedback on how much less stable my systems are with creators update, however on 2/3 of my computers, the feedback hub won't let me sign. Pressing the sign in button does nothing!

So I found this:

https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-hello/unable-to-sign-in-to-groovefeedback-hub-after/3889296f-d873-4ebf-a83b-dd3bd4fa1a3f

Thing is, I clicked on email and app accounts and now I have the moving dots across the top. It's been like that a few minutes now.

Not sure if it's the creator update or not, but I no longer have the "sleep" option available. I can shut down or restart, but not sleep.

Heh, in my experience, the loss of productivity since getting the creators update means I don't have time for sleep any-more anyway! Maybe it's by design!

Ugh, and another issue! Every few days I can't RDP to my home computer any more. I just get a black screen like it's trying to connect, then disconnection with no error. Can teamviewer into it fine!

FFS!

Back when I was trying to test Windows 10 1607, I could not get Cumulative Updates to install on the system when the updates were coming from our WSUS server (approved on the WSUS server, computer knew it needed them but downloads stayed at 0% until the CU was removed from the approved updates). Only way to get the CU was to manually download from the catalog and install manually .. since the VM I was testing on was not allowed to connect to the internet to automatically download)

Eventually Microsoft acknowledged the issue and said it was resolved, but by then I had given up on testing ..

Looks like the same issues is affecting Windows 10 1703 Enterprise.
CU is approved on the WSUS server, computer has advised the WSUS server it needs the update but sits on 0% downloading.
Have just removed the CU from the approved updates list and am now waiting for the computer to communicate with WSUS.

If this is the same issue, how the hell can Microsoft repeat the same mistake ...

Over the weekend, the system knew it needed to download 3 updates but the downloads never start

Meanwhile the WSUS server shows the system needs 11 updates ..

I've manually downloaded the updates from Windows catalog and will apply one at a time to see if that gives the system the kick start it needs to get the updates from our WSUS server

I have been having similar issues, but not with Creator, just ordinary updates. I can't stand all the Windows interruptions, which always manage to screw up something I'm working on, so I keep the update service disabled and only turn it on when it suits me (not Microsoft) to update. After a day and a night of waiting while it went in circles, I finally did the main update manually, after which everything eventually (after repeated tries) sorted itself out. Anyone at Microsoft who thinks this is an improvement over XP needs to have their head examined.

In the meantime, I now have a completely unnecessary sign-in screen, along with bland industrial-style background images MSFT keeps asking me to approve of, that I cannot get rid of, regardless of how many times and places I turn it off. Microsoft must have a whole department dedicated to thinking up petty annoyances to irritate its customers as much as possible. This is the OS that never takes 'no' for an answer!

Of course. Defender and Malwarebytes have never found a thing, other than the occasional pup, none of which were unwanted.

Windows you aren't being helpful. And no, sign out or restart doesn't fix it. I am going to login with a backup admin account and delete this account to see if it fix it...

Down to having one update approved and it is not downloading.

Found a thread on technet of people with similar issues.

Microsoft are making it very hard for me to convince management that Windows 10 is the way forward ...

try adding the MIME type .esd (application/octet-stream) in IIS -> Sites -> WSUS Administration Site -> MIME Types

Yes. This laptop has three accounts

  • Mauricio Freitas (local, Administrator)
  • Mauricio Freitas (Microsoft account, Standard)
  • Bella Freitas (Microsoft account, Standard)

Bella's account is the one that had this problem. Also OneDrive on her login disconnected from the service. At the end I deleted her account and created it again.

Both my Administrator and Standard accounts are working just fine.

I'm betting you'll continue to have curious little problems until you do a clean install.  Happens too often with upgraded installs
