To the fish filleter at Kai Ika yesterday https://kaiika.co.nz/

I had been fishing on the kaipara, Had 10 Snapper and 2 Kawhawai.

I tried calling when I left Parakai and there was no answer, I arrived just before 5 and he was clean up and loaded the van, he still did myfish anyway, took the heads / frames / skin & bones away.

Yes I can fillet fish, he did the lot in 15 minutes, would have taken me 1 1/2 hours and a lot of searing and cursing. Also the guy who takes my fish heads was on a fishing trip and would not want my heads ( dont think they will be fishing today in this wind )

Mightyape screwed up yet another delivery. Was supposed to be a same-day delivery to my home. No parcel arrives Friday.

Saturday AM I got a call from a courier post driver at my office asking if he can put it through our mail slot. I mentioned it was supposed to be coming to my home. No problem he says, and drives right to my house to drop it off.

Can't ask for better than that. Amazing.

Our RD chap is pretty good.

Due to the convoluted way parcel deliveries 'work' here, PHC stuff ends up at the local depot and he collects it on the afternoon of the day it arrives there before delivering it to his customers the following day, thereby adding an unnecessary extra day to what is supposed to be (and would be in most other places I can think of) next day delivery.

Rick will text me if such a parcel arrives for me and meet me in a lay-by 5 minutes down the road to give me the parcel the day he gets it rather than the next day!

PB Tech. Can’t believe that I ordered a bracket yesterday at 4pm and it arrived 10am next morning. After seeing rows of yellow highlighting on the site explaining to expect delays due to couriers and covid it was with disbelief I saw the package at the door.

Can’t ask for better service than that!

We have had wildly mixed courier deliveries but on the whole, we haven't experienced significant delays more than a couple of times really.

Couriers are working so hard right now, I always make a point of being very thankful out loud when I see one, especially one looking harassed or who has gone out of their way for me.

I just wanted to give a giant shout out to Behemoth Brewing. I ordered 3 dozen 440's in the EOFY sale, a random pack and a sours pack. Order arrived, got the wrong pack instead of the sours. Got in touch with them, they said "Yep our bad, looks like we actually sent you the wrong random box too, keep everything, we'll reship your sours and a another random box and some merch."

I've ended up with easily $650-700 worth of top notch beer if I'd purchased it at retail for about a third of that. I would have been happy with them just sending a courier to collect the wrong pack and ship the right one, so this was very unexpected and I'm absolutely chuffed. Absolute GC's and some of the best customer service I'd had in a long time.

Lucky bugger. Just finishing off a box of their mixed sours myself.

They do some nice beers and some bloody clever marketing.

Bought a small jar of Fix & Fogg smooth peanut butter from the supermarket.

Emailed to tell them we found some chunks in it that we wouldn't have wanted our toddler to eat - no big deal though. Wasn't expecting anything, just thought they'd like to know.

Few days later two giant jars show up with a hand written apology, explanation and assurance the mechanical issue was fixed.

Three months later, another two jars show up again thanking us for continued loyalty.

Probably cost them $15 bucks, but think I'll keep buying their product for a long long time.

Blackwells Mazda - Sockburn

We've had an ex-Demo Mazda CX-3 for about 8 years and it has only done 31k km.

WOF & Service time today. One of the rear seatbelts (That we have probably only used once or twice in that time) was not retracting.

Fitted and replaced "Under Warranty", all in the same visit. (They know our use well)

Must say: We have always received excellent service from them and their predecessors (Canterbury Mazda) for the two "new" vehicles we have bought from them over 25 years.

A bit of a long story.

I adore my dog—I'll do anything for him and I buy him healthy food and treats.

In an attempt to keep the plaque on his teeth down I buy him bags of those hard (not the crunchy kind), solid bully sticks, aka dried bull penis.

I usually order them with his 20kg bags of dog food from a well known, NZ, online pet company. For a few months the bully sticks were impossible to find anywhere but I found some finally at https://petdirect.co.nz in the middle of May.

They were made in NZ like his usual ones, had the exact same distinctive package but in white not black, were the same size and number and otherwise looked to be made by the same company. So I ordered two packs on 13 May. These things are not cheap but they last longer than anything else. I bought two in case they went out of stock again.

Well! They looked identical when I got them but the dog won't chew them. They don't stink like the other ones always did either.

I left a 2/5 star review on their site with a sentence about how the dog wouldn’t chew them and didn't think any more about it.

A few days ago I got a phone call from the company telling me they'd refunded the open pack to my bank account and were sending a courier sticker to return the other one with and which they would refund once they had the returned item. This morning I got the couriered return sticker and rang the courier to pick it up.

Edit: also in the envelope with the return sticker was a bag of beef dog treats.

That's pretty amazing.

TLDR; https://petdirect.co.nz gave me some very impressive customer service.

Hi.

That's pretty great. Out of interest, did you raise your issue with the store before your review?

Will you be changing your review?

I did not raise the issue with the shop, no. That's why I was surprised to get a call. Not only that but because I almost always buy all my dog related food and wormers etc from another online shop this was my first order with them so I have no history of orders with petdirect besides this one. They don't know me from Adam.

I told them who the other shop was I usually buy them from and explained the similarities and it sounds like they might check that product out because they are curious.

I went to edit my review to say how well the company had handled it but it appears I can't edit it (or delete it even if I wanted to) I wouldn't delete it anyway because that feels kind of wrong. The shop didn’t ask me to either and it's still there.

I left their chat form feedback at how impressed I am and ticked 'happy to share'

I also will probably buy my next 20kg of dog food from them since they carry my brand and their first purchase of it has a hefty discount.

Edit: might this change me over to purchasing more regularly from them? Very, very possible if the prices are similar.

Edit two: they have a referral code, it turns out! Here you go team, a discount for us both if you use this code.  $10 off your first purchase over $80. PM if you want the code, not supposed to post it on a web page.

Personally, I'd remove it, whilst the product isn't what you wanted, but the review is for the company not the product.

Ultimately the company did the right thing (above and beyond as you say) and so at the very least they shouldn't have their average reviews affected.

Your call of course.

The review was for the product, not the company. It was a product review on their web site. I gave the product a 2/5 because it's supposed to be a dog chew and my dog won't chew it, whereas he does like the competitor's similar product. If I were thinking of buying that product I'd want to know that.

I heard back from petdirect a half an hour ago. They checked and although the product looks identical, it is different supplier, so presumably has a different manufacturing process.

My apologies, I misunderstood, I thought you had done a google review on the company :)
