A bit over a month ago I purchased a Mophie Wireless Power bank, from the JB HiFI website.

When the product arrived a couple of days later I found the the packaging it came in had obviously been previously opened and ripped. the power bank wasnt cheap at $144 including shipping, and to find that the product had been opened and used.. or possibly even returned from another customer was quite disapointing.

I immediatley lodged a complaint via their website... over 1 month later I have heard nothing!... will never buy another product from JB hi fi again!

Forms on websites can be very unreliable. Maybe they didn't get it.

Yeah well unfortunately their website doesnt show a phone number to call for their web store.... and I could see no point in callinga retail store about it!

I have had nothing but good experiences in case it means anything to you.

As someone else said, web forms are unreliable though they shouldn't be. I could explain why, but it matters not a lot for right now.

I think a call is your best avenue to resolve the issue. Once you get hold of someone there won't be any issue I believe.

In NZ I think the  only way to contact them is via a retail store. But I have found their store customer service is  good, especially the Lower Hutt store, and I am sure they will do the right thing.

I found their online customer services nonexistent after I purchased an item from their online store

Personally after that experience I will send my money to another retailer.

Don’t want to second-guess you but TBH in a situation like yours I would visit a physical store with the evidence. But you may not have one anywhere near you.

JB Hifi is one of my favorite stores. Can't say I have ever had a bad experience. Maybe I have just been lucky, though never purchased anything from them online.

We bought a cheap house brand TV off them which failed after about 2 years. Took it back and they repaired it no questions asked and no charge (as you would expect). So I've had only good experience with them. The TV was bought online but I took it back to a store.

Why would you wait a month before following up? Why would you not call the local shop?

I can only conclude that you were not ‘that’ upset after all. I assume having now had the use of the product for a month that you are happy with your purchase.

Personally have had great service when resolving issues.

Lazy is such an ugly word, I prefer to call it selective participation

With that little effort of a follow through I'm surprised you buy from anywhere. Phone them or go see them.

the reason I bought the powerbank in the first place was because I was about to depart on 3 weeks of travel, since I have returned I have been busy with other matters... why should the time interval matter?? they had enough time to respond?....

For a start I live in the country about one hours drive from the nearest store, which is why I was shopping online in the first place.. surely the object of online shopping is convenience so that you do not need to visit a store....  and secondly as I mentioned above I was away travelling for an extended period...

By some miraculous co-incidence I have now had an email in reply to my complaint this afternoon!

What are they proposing to do to make it right?

What are they proposing to do to make it right?

They have offered 2 options:

  1. The quickest option is to take the product to your local JB Hi-Fi along with your JB Hi-Fi Tax Invoice. Our friendly staff will assess the item while you wait and provide a suitable remedy.

2.The second option is to have us organise a return consignment for you. This service is free but may take a little longer. Once the item has been received and assessed we will be in touch with you to discuss your options.
