That's probably it.  A positive spin at last.

I rang up this morning(seeing as they sent me an invoice at 10pm last night) to complain.  Rang at 10:12 - was on hold until 10:26, spoke to 'Abbey' who kept putting me on hold while she went to talk to people.  Got off the phone at 10:39.

I'm thinking I need to be billing them for the amount of my time they are wasting, never mind the 3 weeks initial productivity I lost because of thier crap internet - I've probably spend 15 hours talking to them since then.

Here's how the conversation went today:

Me:  You've billed me and I'm not one of your customers.

Abby:  Let me go and check(wait for ages) - someone rang you to tell you that there was two months remaining on your contract.

Me:  Oh - that would be the fuzzy crackly indecipherable answerphone message I got a week ago.  I guess your VoIP is crap too.  Anyway you guys broke the contract when you stopped supplying what I signed up for, as I made clear to you a month ago when I left.

Abby:  Let me go and check(wait for ages) - no they said they contacted you to tell you there was 2 months left on the contract.

Me:  2 things - first - you are billing me the wrong amount for the contract you say I am still bound by, which doesn't bother me because I'm not paying it anyway, and secondly if you want me to pay for services you have to provide them, and you didn't.  So - no valid contract.

Abby:  Let me check(wait for ages)  I'm just talking to provisioning, I just wanted you to know I'm still talking to them.(wait for ages more) I'm sorry they say you have to pay the disconnection fee.

Me:  They aren't charging me a disconnection fee, they are charging me a monthly rental fee for internet they never provided, including $10 extra for internet they hardly provided the previous month.

Abby:  No they say you have to pay.

Me:  Have them say it to me then, put them on.

Abby:  I can't do that.

Me:  Is this call being recorded?

Abby:  No, but I'm putting down notes.

Me:  Okay - put down this.  Woosh broke the contract - it became void the second they stopped providing the service I signed up for.  I should be arguing about compensation for the amount of money I lost because I had to do my online work on a dialup connection and at an internet cafe, not whether I will be paying for service you don't provide AFTER I was forced BY YOU to change to another provider.  I have spoken to the commerce commission about this and you are being watched very closely indeed.  I DO NOT give anyone at woosh permission to take money from my credit card and if they do on the 6th, I will consider that to be theft, and credi card fraud.  Got all that?

And you know what - I think these guys are daring us to take legal action.

Do it. woosh need more bad press since the general population still seem to think they are a viable option for internet connectivity.

As I said in the other thread. they have just sent me an invoice for another month of Quickfire Orbit Flat Rate on 1 Dec,  $49.95 which is invoiced  as "Charges this month" so if I pay the required amount I am paying for 31 days of Flat rate internet in advance on the same plan I had right? But 2 weeks ago they said that they would be changing me to 10 gig plan on 12th December. Can anyone other than Woosh see the problem here ?

well done, I spoke to the "retention manager" (near impossible to speak to any management, ISPs and some of the IT industry are precious !)

the other thing I did was ask him for a leter of finalisation, stating account was paid in full and discontinued on specified date. ( had to chase him a couple of days later )

Ihug (another precious ISP - sheeesh they know so much and yet so little) double dipped into my credit card (they changed from pay at end of month to pay at beginning ) no need to tell me - I talked to supervisor in accounts - said I was only one to complain, and would not reverse credit card. Talked to Visa, 15 minutes later got a call from Ihug apologising.

When left Ihug after they twisted comtract to suit themselves. I paid up in full to end of current month. Two years later they send a Baycorp letter, saying I owe two months. Wrote Baycorp a letter stating bill "was in dispute" Never heard back.

!5 years of internet, and several ISPs later, yet to meet one that is honest, and non-manipulative with contracts etc.

My recent change to Xnet was chosen because they showed a more honest approach than most.

Never trust used car salesman, real estate agents, ISPs, and there is a few cowboys in IT industry to boot.

rant over.

I see you are still advertising Woosh on your bookmarks website though Brucie. How forgiving of you.

I have just sent a letter to the commerce commision but what about FAIR GO lets start some sort of pole where we all can put our details forward to fair go as they are more likely to act on several complaints like a petition or something

I am currently going through a long and drawn out process pretty similar to this.
I wish I had logged my entire conversation history thus far
I have been on hold for half an hour on and off and they are refusing to let me speak to anyone with any actual power to
do anything about it. Same thing
"can I please speak to someone who can address my problem"
"No"
"what do you mean no"
now im waiting again on hold, this lady I am speaking too told me she is going to ask someone something.
I think she is sitting there doing her nails and waiting for long enough so it appears she has spoken to someone to tel me the same thing again.
THIS IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH

Someone with better gramer and spelling then me should Start the process to fair go, consumer affairs, who ever it is we complain to.

Just got off the phone with this lady, she refused to let me speak to anyone other then her, told me an email address to send my complaint too. When I asked her to remove my credit card information from there computers they told me due to the contract I had to pay by direct debit..

Were does it end

Well  just so you know. when i first started my account with them, I refused to use my credit card, and they said that I could pay by Internet banking, which i have done every month since then. So she was telling you porkies. You have a right to withdraw your credit card at any time I would think. May want to check that one.

ring Visa, they will sort that for you. And they get instant results.  I had a similar experience with our friend called Ihug. Decided to  double dip without permission, then would not reverse the charge. I rang Visa, 5 minutes later Ihug apologtised and reversed the chage.
