@Mush1364

I see you have posted that your capture links have changed. It may be better to use the speedtest link share:

Here is one of my captures to Vocus ChCh (from the browser speedtest)

Working fine here using the Windows app. Can't say the same about my connection. :)

@Mush1364

Thanks for your sequence above.

Now I have captured a sequence of what I see - really getting into the OCD stuff now :-)

Win 10 Pro 2004, ISP Orcon - Still getting the error in the shared link.

My first ever AM radio network connection was with a 1MHz AM crystal(OA91) radio receiver.

Same thing happens for me when I copy the link. Ping and download speed are right, the server and upload are wrong

I noticed you're running Edge browser. Have you tried Firefox or Chrome?  Pasting Speedtest share links into the FF & Chrome versions below results in normal behavior for me...

Having spent far too much time on this when at Spark I can say hand on my heart that it will be something with your internal network.
If the hundreds of gig cases escalated to me via support only two were a LFC issue. One typo on the provisioning had the numbers around the wrong way and the other was a faulty fibre SFP in the OLT. All these issues occurred in the early days before automated provisioning and additional monitoring that was added to catch these odd use cases.
There are two options imho.
99.99%) Something wrong with your setup and it’s not the job of the ISP to fix that.
0.01%) saturated handover, backhaul or LFC provisioning issue.
As I have yet to see a genuine ISP fault being posted on Geekzone in the last two years.

I used Edge because I do not have multiple tabs open as in my Chrome which I usually use.

I get the same result with IE and Chrome.

I also get the same result if I send the link to another computer or my phone.

The Speedtest App web link is generated by the App and is not created within a browser.

Thanks for the info.

There is nothing wrong with my Speedtest App results... I am really happy with that.

The issue is with the Windows 10 Speedtest App created web link.

The incorrect results in the link issue has also been found by the OP and another poster on a different thread.

I am using the Orcon provided router (NetComm NF18AVC) with the config as provided and a Chorus ONT.

I might have a look on Ookla forums to see if it is a known issue with the App.

I don't expect Orcon to have to deal with this Speedtest App issue.

Yep agree with all that....

I'll run another round of tests soon as my cable to connect my other computer has arrived however i feel it will make no difference. Am also waiting on a response from Orcon about changing to a static IP to see what effect that will have on my connection.

Cheers,

Me

I have sent off a request to Ookla support on the link issue.

I ran a Speedtest App on my Android phone and the shared link reports the correct results. I doesn't matter if I use a browser on my phone or my computer, I get the correctly displayed result.

I captured a Windows Speedtest App shared result to an email...

It shows the correct results in the text but faulty web link results.

Here is a copy of the link shown in the email image:

https://www.speedtest.net/my-result/d/5dcb5793-38dd-40d9-abd3-07339e03d62e

It will be interesting to hear back from Ookla.

@Mush1364 did you manage to sort out a static IP? Has it made any difference?

@Mush1364 , your ping is all over the place and you're doing this through ethernet?

I can get in between 9 to 12 ms 95% of the time over wifi with spark in invercargill too. Anyone else from invercargill that has vocus rsp?

I spoke to them yesterday, was hoping to change to the current plan they offer but with a static ip which would keep the price about the same. Might ring again and see if i can do it for only a month...

@Mush1364 You're testing via WiFi... There's your problem.

ALWAYS test via Ethernet. Also I don't see any issues here with your speeds either.

Seems pretty decent now, to get the best results however as Murfy said, always use ethernet while testing and browsing when possible
