My PSU gave up the ghost over the weekend so no playing for me!

To be honest I have just not got into this game, I am struggling with getting enough decent ammo and keep loosing dog meat.

Also can't seem to get the power armour to repair, the option doesn't appear, I have 3 sets and can't seem to combine them to make up one good set.

Haven't really bothered too much with Sanctuary and I am playing the story mostly.

Maybe I'll get to the point where I have enough ammo to go Rambo on its a$$ and get the enjoyment I need out of it (without resorting to console commands)

There are talents to provide more ammo if you run low, these make a very noticeable difference to your stores.

Not sure why people are having so much trouble repairing the power armour. Get out of the suit near the power armour station. Look at the station, not the armour, hit craft and the option to modify and repair the bits pops up. You just need steel basically.

If you lose any of your companions you can just fast travel (even to the same location you are in) and they re-appear.

Swapping bits around for your companions power armor is an ordeal. Im finding that stimpacks are the limiting factor now, now ammo. The biggest pain is how many types of ammo there are. At least they are no weight so its just a matter of having the gun needed for it.

Use the cooking stations. I hardly ever use stim packs. You can eat food in combat.

I saw a tip for managing guns an ammo, rename your favorite guns at the weapons crafting station put - in front of the name, and then the caliber, eg.
-.45 AutoGun, it also puts all your favorite guns on top of the list helping you ditch those crappy pipe pistols with ease. Helps comparing damage, and makes it easy buying ammo.

I hate the comparison method. Ideally they should highlight them side by side and show you in red what is worse and green, those stats which are better.

Also jredwards on Reddit discovered that vegetable starch (cooking/utility) breaks down to 5 adhesive.  If you have the plants and water purifier set up in a settlement it's a persistently renewable resource.  Places like Abernathy Farm have all the ingredients except purified water.

Some ammo (such as shotgun shells, and most especially railway spikes) seem to be hard to find, so I just rotate certain weapons by putting them into a weapons box at Sanctuary.  After a while, I've picked up enough ammo to swap them back into use.  Keeps the weight down a bit too.

In the early stages of the game (first few hundred hours ;) ) that would definitely be awesome.

I had to google what to do for the freedom trail one. Didnt show on the map, and after going thru it and looking at everything, I would have expected the game to had remembered what I had looked at since it read the damn letters and numbers out. Now thats over I can progress the main story line.

I've had to do that a few times too. Got hopelessly lost yesterday, went round in circles in Med-Tek Research building. Could find the way back out to Commonwealth but could not see how to progress through the building. Googling told me that unless you were on a particular quest, parts of the building were inaccessible. A bit frustrating but I put some of this down to my advancing years.

I'll go back when I'm on the particular quest. I wonder if all the enemies will have respawned or will my initial clearance remain in effect?

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

If anyone here is a member of the Nexus sites, they are saying they may have been compromised and to change you password just in case.
