WanaGo: I didn't have any entry in there prior, it was an empty table.

Sorry, I assumed that you'd had a single entry there and had to add the second; I obviously misunderstood your statement.  Even MORE curious then!

WanaGo: Build Timestamp: 201312161442
Software Version: GURNV5.OT132A-8-NC.Orcon-R5B019.EN

Ok, I'm clearly running a newer firmware than yours.

Right.
Both are R5B019 though...

Is the build timestamp the hardware build? Im thinking it is. ie mines 2013 era hardware...

Any way to backup firmware from one, and share it?

Need to contact Orcon and find out if there is an update.
Ill see if any of the email addresses I have from orcon contact in the past, still go anywhere. I cannot be bothered waiting on the phone for hours to then talk to a level 1 who will ask me to reset the modem, unplug it, plug it back in, reset it to factory defaults, or the like. grrrrr.

oh hangon....
is yours
GURNV5.OT132A-8-NC.Orcon-R5B029.EN

R5B029 ??

I assumed that was a typo...

29? when NF4V's page themselves only have 22....

WanaGo: Right.

Nope; mine actually says R5B029; that is a little hard to see, I'll agree.

Don't know; there is a backup option, not sure if it just dumps the config or not, however.

Need to contact Orcon and find out if there is an update.

That's probably the best bet.

I just got off the online chat to Netcomm
Now that was interesting

They said there are 2 types of firmware.
Netcomm and Orcon.

Netcom Version:

Orcon Version:

I have the Netcomm version..
Which do you have?

They said, the latest that Orcon has is version 032
So even your 029 is not the latest now.

They said, call Orcon, and ask their tech support to "Please update my modem with the 032 firmware using TR-069"
Which he said they can do remotely and push you an update from their server....

So I am going to try this.
My firmware I guess is ancient.

Orcon, as far as I know.  It's Orcon branded.

I'll probably do this too; given I'm having issues with my Chromecast, that a router-reset seems to fix.

Currently on the phone, talking to a level 1 support Philippino lady it seems.
I am not allowed to speak to Level 2 support directly. Company policy.
Grrrr
I hate these call centres, they are crap.
Now have to pass info to her, she goes to them to ask questions, then she comes back, and forth and back... so unproductive

Apparently some Level 2 or Senior Support person is going to call me in the next 48 hours.
My upgrade has been logged and will happen when they call.
Apparently.

I am now running
GURNV5.OT132A-8-NC.Orcon-R5B032.EN

Factory reset Modem with WAN disconnected.
When it restarts, plug in WAN.
Power off modem, power back on.
When it boots up it will pull latest version off the server.
This got me to R5B029
Orcon was on the phone when I did this. They then manually pushed out R5B032.

So... even with 032 firmware, the problem remains.

SSID's other than my primary one, don't have internet.

WTF.

Start with the basics, can you ping the gateway? Does DNS work? Can you ping 8.8.8.8?

You're not on Atlantis anymore, Duncan Idaho.

What if you allocate both networks in the 192.168.x.x IP range like jamesrt has done?

May also have to do with hardware NAT/packet accelerator as I believe that bypasses iptables rules?
Will need to find out if its a bridge/interface configuration or NAT/firewall configuration problem.

Also I didn't know these Netcomms were capable of multiple LAN DHCP server instances?

Just some ideas.

Yes each SSID can ping their own gateway.
The problem is their is not resolvable external IP, they have no path to the internet.
If I do the NAT-MultiNAT arrangement and do Many-To-One, and set each range to push to the external IP, all SSID's have internet access. However this then creates other issues.

I wonder if what yitz just said is on to something, I will try that.

as my LAN/Primary SSID is 10.1.1.1 -> range
My secoond SSID is 192.168.2.1 -> range
my third SSID is 192.168.3.1 -> range

I will change second and third to be 10.1.2.1 and 10.1.3.1 and see what happens.

I have just given all details to Netcom Wiressless tech support and they have the 032 firmware from Orcon and are going to simulate it all right now and get back to me ASAP.
I passed on what you said yitz, to see if that would help them in their testing. They said thank you.

Yitz - genius
This seems to have solved it

Primary/LAN - 10.1.1.1 ->
Second SSID - 10.1.2.1 ->
Third SSID - 10.1.3.1 - >

All seem to have Internet access now

I will continue testing.
Many thanks
