I signed up to Snap after being told it would take 5-10 working days to switch over from my current provider. It took them 11 working days to connect my internet and a further 6 days without a phone line.

I am not joking when I say this but I would of at least made 20 phone calls to snap to figure out what was going on with the connection and each and every occasion I was told some preposterous story and was refused to be put through to a manager. In one instance after being on hold for half an hour a supervisor answered my call and finally told me that they screwed up my order on their end and that nothing would be done about it.

Consequently I sent in a formal complaint that went ignored at first. When they responded, they responded again with the stories and apologies and what not and that they wouldnt do anything about it.

To make matters worse they tried to patronize me and offer me a ridiculous compensation and claim it to be of $100 value when at cost it would not even be $50.

So unless anyone wants to wait over half a month to get their internet switched over and being left without a phone line for almost another week and making all your phone calls from your cell phone which can be very expensive I suggest that you go with another company who would at least have the decency to own up and rectify the matter. Oh and my internet went from 7mbps to under 4mbps with snap and I have simply given up due to their lackluster customer service.

If anyone has had a similar incident or know of snap breaking any laws please PM me. If I gather sufficient evidence I will be filing a class action lawsuit.

Umm for someone being new, and for first post, you rant about an ISP? Sorry to say, there are others that have been on this site for a while and there are two sides to a story... given that, if THIS is an issue, it would've been "exposed" by other members on here...

And as said for first post to the forum, you ranted about Snap, it isn't giving you and your post much credit.

However, do what you think is right, and file a formal complaint or even to TDR should you think you have sufficient ground for a dispute as that is the proper process to go through as well.

So you joined GeekZone JUST to post a rant? Seems legit.

Yes I`d be happy to see what snap have to say.

And as a matter of fact I joined geekzone in order to get through to a manager as that seems to be the only way I can get hold of one.

You have to remember that most of the time it's Chorus who are to blame for delays. There are lots of people who have nothing but great experiences with snap, myself included.

+1

Nothing but good experiences. Chorus on the other hand....

People tend to sign up here to complain but people signing up to commend good service is rare because it's what people expect.

Not in this case. Snap have admitted to being at fault for failing to process my order properly noting that it was a human error on their part and told me that they had to book a Chorus technician again to fix the problem.

Certainly your experience doesn't sound ideal, but class action lawsuit... really?  please.

I've had nothing but good experiences with snap. Even the couple of times there have been issues they've been extremely helpful in sorting them out. Best ISP I've ever been with.

My impression from the topic is that this is a soapbox.

Start with the subject "Don't join snap!!!"... That's not a subject someone posts when trying to find a solution, but trying to antagonize. Soapbox ++ 1.

Then someone from their team saying "they screwed up my order on their end and that nothing would be done about it" is very unlikely - not for being Snap, but because any company worth of its reputation wouldn't go like that (and Snap has a good one). Soapbox ++ 1.

Unfortunately because of privacy laws we won't see what Snap has to say about what really happened. I suspect there's another side here.

I'm considering Snap, and this thread won't sway my opinion. Them not replying to my questions when they said they would might, but not this thread.

So a company makes a mistake affecting you as a single customer and you're threatening to file a class action lawsuit? You do realise this isn't America?

I blame the kids these days watched too much American TV programmes and started to think and behave as if NZ is the 51st state of USA.

Wait, what?! NZ isn't apart of the USA? Damn, life = ruined.

Off-topic somewhat but; I was able to get all my pre sales questions answered over Twitter (via DMs).

Well given the current political situation... it is hard not to imagine why NZ isn't already part of USA... *hehe*
