I was with Snap VDSL up until May last year, until UFB came to my street and I decided to sign with VF for their discounted pricing.
VF speed was not bad but I had no end of troubles with VF TV. Resetting the set top every few weeks, lack of features, the usual rant.
I ended up leaving the set top box off and never using it again. (great toy for the kids mind you

Besides the VF TV issue, I did also get annoyed at the way I could not easily log onto the VF web user portal, (yes the one with the illogical Gui -certainly not idiot proof), to pay my bill via credit card...
Storing simple details such as my credit card, account number or even account name for future payments was out of the question. It couldn't even remember what I had to pay. Back to the dark ages I go to remember then enter in my details... I call this a virtual workout!
Anyway, something snapped, and I saw that Snap had an unlimited deal.
So I rang Snap to see if they could help me, no save me, and they were very accommodating. I waited less than a minute for the service desk woman to answer, and after the conversation she sent me an email detailing all that was said including the services I had just ordered.
I then received a text a few days later confirming the change over date, and low and behold, the date came and my service was switched over to Snap. Speeds are very good even during peak, 102Mbps/20.5Mbps down/up (measured just before 8pm).
I then decided to enquire about switching to the 200/200 plan, so I rang Snap. Phone was answered in less than 30 seconds (and this was after I had just spent 33 minutes on hold with VF so I was very impressed). We went through a few options, however I decided I wasn't keen for the downgrading charge if after a month I decided to go back to 100/20. Fair enough, someone has to pay Chorus to do their thing.
So basically this post is about how I left an ISP due to greener pastures on the other side, only to find the pastures on the other side were not even green at all, hell they didn't even have irrigation!
Snap, you were great for me last year, and you have been great for me again now, and that's even after I left you for someone else...
Cheers
Joel
