Does anyone else have an issue of SMS messages failing to send, it's happened a couple of times now. I have to restart the phone and then resend.

I'm on Vodafone, but think it's a phone issue. My S3 sent all messages fine

I'm not a complete idiot, I still have some parts missing.

Have you tested with another Sim to isolate further?

No, it's only happened a couple of times in the last 7 days, It could take 2-3 days to reproduce this problem so not really practical

I was just wondering if others have had this happen.

Picked up an S5 earlier this week and gave Wifey my S3; Telecom made it kinda worthwhile.

I tried the fingerprint scanner, because ... well, it's there.  It seemed mostly OK until the phone rang and I couldn't answer it - it wouldn't respond to the sliding green thing.  I can't find any reference to this anywhere with a couple of desultory searches.  Has anybody else seen it?

I've switched to pattern unlock and all is well with that.

I tried encrypting the device but it requires a password to unlock it - can't use fingerprint or anything else instead.

I haven't tried encryption on this phone but the decryption occurs on boot before Android starts. So there wouldn't be an easy or practical way to make fingerprint unlocking work.

Anyone managed to redeem the LinkedIn Premium offer?

Installed LinkedIn, synchronised with phone, then visited the Samsung Gifts URL on the phone as per the screenshot:

And after clicking I get... nothing:

Has anyone rooted their S5 yet? I'm considering it to do a little debloating, however the unavoidable triggering of Knox has me hesitating for the first time with an Android phone.

I had to install Google Calendar from Play Market because the S Planner app is terrible. Even though I had two Exchange accounts loaded it wouldn't show appointments from both, but only one at a time. Installed Google Calendar and it's all there.

I will ask again... Anyone managed to redeem a Samsung Galaxy Gift, more specifically the LinkedIn one?

The NZ page http://www.samsung.com/nz/galaxys5/galaxygifts.html says only that there's a LinkedIn Premium offer. No links. The global page at http://www.samsung.com/global/microsite/galaxys5/galaxygifts.html says there's an offer and gives a link to visit from your mobile to redeem (http://www.samsung.com/global/microsite/galaxys5/mobile/galaxygifts.html) but nothing happens.

I am in contact with Samsung to figure out why those gifts aren't working and interested to know if anyone had a different experience.

I read a similar thing on Xda, people having some issues redeeming some of the gifts in certain regions. Samsung are aware of the issue and looking into it.

Hello.

I've been trying to root a Telecom NZ variant of the Samsung Galaxy S5 SM-G900F. However Odin keeps presenting the following error "<ID:0/020> FAIL! (Auth)."
I believe that Telecom may have locked the bootloader on their shipment of Galaxy S5's! Whilst in download mode on the device it shows QUALCOMM SECUREBOOT: ENABLE.
Is anyone else encountering this problem and is there a way around it.

Cheers

Yes, within hours of purchasing; I've disabledKnox also. Used SD Maid to uninstall anything I didn't want.

Which root are you trying to use? I've successfully rooted my Telecom purchased device with CF Root:

What version of Odin are you using? Rooted mine just fine with Odin 3.07. and CF-Auto-Root.

Cheers.

In the past I have had issues with ODIN errors like that, try a different USB port and use the samsung usb cable.
