Kiwi1971:gonor3a: I sent gordon a text today and will have the phone back tommorow. I have a report but will post when I have my phone back in my hands. lets just say, I'll be over a hundy out of pocket for the fix.
You had to pay them to fix the phone they sold you because it wasn't doing something it should have been able to do out of the box. And was probably not doing it because of something they did before shipping it?
I recently hard reset it to factory settings and noticed that the setting were different to when I originally received it, so obviously they do something before they ship it. It was in Chinese for a start. Are we sure these were originally German handsets as previously mentioned?
I initially gave them a good review on Pricespy, I think that review will be revoked, even if my phone isn't.

Hey kiwi1971,
yea I agree with you it totally sucks. eKing basically are trying to say that because it was a software fail the the problem lies with me. I just want the handset back and basically I won't be able to get this unless I pay the cash. what really sucks is that he said it would be a couple of bucks and its costing me 120, i would say buyer beware in this case. Gordon has been helpful, but I've found my dealings with eKing exceptionally frustrating with regard to trying to talk to real people who really care about the stuff they are selling.
eKing should back the products they are selling. If the OTA update is failing and causing catastrophic failure, they should warn users on the website, or at least send a not to say do not update. since updating is a normal function of the phone.
I'd be interested to hear from other users what they think I should do in this case.
