mattwnz: Has anyone had their order fulfilled? I ordered a few things including the printer, and have received the other things, but the printer still shows 'in progress' on their status page.

I ordered 2and the second one has been delivered. 1st order is still processing.

Did you get receipts with each replacement? If so claim cash-back on each!

I had Harvery Norman replace a laptop under warranty, got different brand which had a cash back running on it at the time. I successfully claimed a cash back using the receipt for the replacement laptop.

Ive had similar experience with those cheap brother scanner printer combos :( Personally, cheap consumer electronics all suck!

That would not be a good thing to do.

Just got this email from JB regards my second unit. I'm going to wait till mid Jan and then decide what to do.
On a good note - the printer that has arrived works well.

Hi Daniel,

Thanks for your email,

I'm afraid your item is on back order with our supplier, and they are not able to give us an estimated date of dispatch at this stage. If you would like to cancel this order please let me know, otherwise we will dispatch your order as soon as it is complete.

Sorry for any inconvenience.

I'd never bother with an inkjet printer every again. Too expensive to run,

I am guessing that as long as they were purchased,/ordered, and the tax invoice shows the date it was purchased, then it will qualify for the cash back. I didn't get the backorder email, but mine still says  status is pending. But I do have a tax invoice to show it was purchased in December, which is within qualifying period of the cash back.

The purchase has to be before the 11/1/2015, but cashback claims must be made before the 31 January 2015. So plenty of time to make a claim. But I believe you need to have received it to make the claim, because you need to enter in the serial number. So it does all depend on how quickly JB Hifi delivers it.

Anyone got this problem where if there's a missing ink cartridge the printer won't let you do anything (like scanning). It just comes up with error 1660 Ink Tank Cannot Be Recognized and you can't get rid of the error message until you put in the missing cartridge

Sadly that's pretty standard with most consumer printers these days

I have never heard of a printer refusing to scan because it didn't have a cartridge. But I guess you can install an empty one, so it doesn't need to be full of ink to scan with. That would be a bit off if it refuses to scan unless it has ink in it. Ink jets tend to lose ink over time if you don't use them, with the heads constantly cleaning themselves, I have found.
