Yeah... that renders WoT unplayable. I've sent a bunch of BF4 server tracerts to Vodafone tech and a Twitch.tv tracert comparison between mine and Glassboy's. Tech support is going to get this investigated. I'm crossing my fingers
that in fixing this it'll fix your WoT server problem, too.

Presumably there are long term contracts that mean Vodafone can't or won't change the transit providers any time soon for the cable network (that they acquired from Telstraclear), maybe JohnR can comment?

It's sort of funny how cable used to be the best option for gamers, but in the last few years (even before Vodafone acquisition) the spastic routing meant many gamers switched away.

Also cable is not UFB no matter what Vodafone's marketing says, that just muddies the water imo.

This is no way near the first time routing over Telstra Global's (formerly Reach) transit has been bad, remember the Telstraclear youtube issues that took them like 12 months to fix and so on.

Good ADSL2+ with interleaving off and non spastic routing is better for gaming than Cable right now.

If the problem si with Vodafone's upstream why don't Vodafone just peer themselves at PIPE/Equinix etc. in Australia - would be much easier..?

The problem is with the cable network (ex Telstraclear) which still uses the old/separate/different transit/backhaul that Telstraclear had, ie: via telstra global (used to be called Reach) and no peering at APE/WIX.

Probably a heck of a lot of work to move cable over to the same network stuff that Vodafone DSL, Mobile and Fibre use, billing systems involved and there are probably long term contracts and what not.

Haven't checked recently but Vodafone apart from cable eg: DSL, Fibre, Mobile still uses Vocus and has good routes to AU and US.

Vodafone tech support has fix almost all of the routing for BF4 servers. All but a few ping below 110ms. Here are ones they missed. The first four are 109.200.213.x addresses, and I can't get a ping for the final two (203.98.81.81, 203.98.81.82) which I could before the routing problem occurred).

Nah fibre and cable(obviously) are both on ex-TelstraClear platform. The UFB fibre pilot was on the ex-ihug platform however.

Vodafone's marketing uses "Ultra Fast Broadband on Cable" and "Ultra Fast Broadband on Fibre" so when someone says Vodafone UFB you have to ask which...

UFB for practically everyone else always means Fibre using the CrownFibreCo assigned regional FibreCo's access network (ie: Chorus or Enable or Ultrafast Fibre or Northpower Fibre).

It's pretty annoying, what next Ultra Fast Broadband on VDSL lolz1...

Vodafone sold UFB "Fibre" pre Telstraclear acquisition and I don't recall Telstraclear selling UFB "Fibre" at all.

Makes sense that Vodafone UFB "Cable" would use ex TCL platform but why would Vodafone UFB "Fibre", I don't think it does?
