I'll be doing a video drive around with my SGSII when it arrives, with luck it should ship tonight NZ time.

Cool, looking forward to it and mytracks test too if you have time :)
I reckon they would have tested the gps a lot this time after the flack they got over the sgs 1.

If they have everything working as it should in this phone, it's definitely going to be a good upgrade.

There are already quite a few people running around with these. Check out the XDA forums SGSII section
at http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1055. You should find answers to almost all of your questions there, including mytracks and camera tests.

Also, to confirm Mobicity's shipping dates:

Thanks for your email.

The i9100 ship to us on May 3rd. They will arrive at our warehouse between May 5th and 7th.

We'll then process and ship as soon as we can and email tracking details the morning after shipment.

Kind regards,
The MobiCity Helpdesk Team

Edit: Shipping date update

5th or 7th won't make any difference it won't get to YOU on that day, it will ship from the HK Depot on that date.

Depending how quickly they get it shipped out from the warehouse, there's a chance it'll be at a FedEx depot in NZ either on the afternoon of the 6th or on the 7th. And if it's in a depot, there's a chance I can drive there and pick it up...

I'd count on a day at least to turn them around and be shipped out. I'm not expecting mine until mid next week at the earliest.

Wow, can't believe I haven't read through this yet.

I'm likely going to be replacing my XT N1 with an S2 but am shuffling some funds around at the moment so need to wait a few days.

Does anyone know/have they already asked Clove about their stock numbers? I understand they're shipping them now/tomorrow so might be all sold out which is fine, but don't want to give them my cash for them to hold onto for an undetermined time...

Also, am I right in remembering that if I choose the cheaper (but only slightly slower) shipping option i'm less likely, historically, to get stung on GST? I've had varying experience with my international shipping but lately have been faring quite well with few gst additions.

From memory their first batch of 500 or so is all spoken for, but they have more coming. Best to contact them directly though.

You are less likely to get done for GST using the other shipping method, quite right. Still a chance you get charged though.

Thanks for that chaps.

Have emailed Clove inquiring so should be interesting if I get a reply given the probable mass email list they have to work through with tags related to the S2.

I can wait for a phone which reviews this well.

Reply from Clove:

"We expect further stocks of the Samsung SII later this week and would expect to ship NEW orders either late this week or early next week

Therefore place your order as soon as you can"

So yeah, seems like they should be getting more stock in faster than the estimated 1-2 weeks I got from Mobicity but will obviously be selling those fast too.

I should get my order in on Thursday or Friday so I hope that's soon enough.

More info from Clove - they are shipping today and not the 4th as previously notified as they received stock a day early. They are shipping pre-orders based on time of ordering (Feb-Mar-Apr). Since I ordered in February I will keep hoping for an email confirming shipping from them very soon!
