OK so I know others will want to know, and I certainly want to know more about where things get routed.

My DHL 1-3 day delivery from Clove goes like this so far:

7 Arrived at Sort Facility LONDON-HEATHROW - UK LONDON-HEATHROW - UK 09:13
6 Departed Facility in EAST MIDLANDS - UK EAST MIDLANDS - UK 06:32
5 Processed at EAST MIDLANDS - UK EAST MIDLANDS - UK 01:48
NEXT DAY
4 Arrived at Sort Facility EAST MIDLANDS - UK EAST MIDLANDS - UK 23:26
3 Departed Facility in SOUTHAMPTON - UK SOUTHAMPTON - UK 19:55

I've seen other shipments on xda go to Heathrow before going to East Midlands but I think they were destined for the USA. *shrug*

I don't think we need lists of everyones statistics but for those still waiting it might be nice for them to know what sort of timeframe they might be looking at. *shrug*

I think its way too much info or this particular thread.. The thread is on the sgs2 not on how couriers ship things, thats just my opinion.
I also think if people are old enough to buy a sgs2 then they should be at the age of having a little patience :)

Just had another In Transit event in Singapore. Looks like the phones have been lounging around for a few hours, sipping down some Tiger Beer, or maybe a Singapore Sling or 2. Hopefully they're on the move again.

Don't worry, i won't take it the wrong way. I'm plenty old enough to wait. By the comments of others it seems many can't... ;) I'll leave it at that.

I was interested to know, since the royal mail one is rather unspecific, and I'm probably checking it 2-3 times a day.

Even though I refreshed my browser, I didn't see your post until just now. Odd...

I don't think that any of us are truly impatient. Excited is probably a better word, especially for those of us upgrading from far inferior phones. At least it'll be over soon, and we'll all be posting our experiences with the phone.

In the mean time, I'll try to refrain from posting excessive updates. Maybe 1 more when the phones are in NZ, but no more than that unless there are delays. I'll be a good boy

Clove don't appear to have mentioned how long the warranty for the SGSII is, so I emailed them. I also asked what their precedure is for warranty and received this reply. (see below)

"Yes it is 2 years. We are not sure whether you have a Samsung office in New Zealand as obviously that would be easier for you. Otherwise you can ship the phone to us and we will deal. Hopefully it will not come to that though!"

If there are any problems with privately imported phones, I'm pretty sure they'll need to go back to Clove/Samsung UK. The following comment was placed on one of the Trademe auctions. (see below)

Unusual for legit major corporates to deliver such poor punctuation, incorrect capitalisation, redundancy and to get spelling as wrong as this dude did with "warranty"; especially the "Head of Samsung Telecommunications NZ" whatever that might be. And you'd think a CEO would actually use his title...

Regardless of how authentic the message is, the key thing is that imported phones do not have a manufacturer's warranty.

Samsung are far from alone here. Almost any electronic devices you buy these days have warranties that are tied to the country of purchase. Sometimes you can transfer the warranty to a different country, but that's up to the manufacturer. Hardly anything carries an international warranty.

This was one of the reasons I went through a company that provides a third-party warranty for their phones. You pay a bit more for the privilege, but at least you're not out of pocket for any faults in the phone.

The warning, legit or not, is still valid as you say. I was simply pointing out that it appears to be somebody impersonating the CEO of Samsung here in NZ. And if that comment is in fact legit, then the CEO of Samsung is remarkably poorly educated for somebody in that position.

Correct. If you buy a phone that has been sourced from a distributor in any given country, the manufacturer's warranty is only applied in that country.

Examples:

You've bought a phone from Clove (UK-based), who will have sourced their stock from a UK distributor. The manufacturer's warranty only applies for repairs made in the UK.

You've bought a phone from a local seller, who has imported the phone from Hong Kong. The manufacturer's warranty only applies for repairs made in Hong Kong.

If your phone breaks, you have the following options for repair:

A local seller may provide you with a third-party warranty, allowing you to have the phone repaired in-country.

You ship the phone back to the local seller, who sends it back to the country of origin for repair.

You ship the phone back to the foreign seller, who can then take it to a repairer.

You pay for the repairs yourself (ouch!).

Of course, that's assuming your phone breaks. The only major problem I've had with any of my several phones is with my N80, where an internal ribbon cable between the top and bottom halves is known for breaking. I managed to fix that issue myself for only a few dollars (thanks eBay).

yeah i ve seen that on sum reviews pointing that out , maybe they did it people don't turn the ph off to take out the sd card out and in turn corrupting it , this way they it will be off ....

Just to give an idea of timeframes, and hopefully this wont offend any of the "sensitive" users here, My Clove sourced SGSII that was dispatched from Clove via Royal Mail on Wednesday 4th NZ time, now shows as just arriving in NZ at 8.05am today Sunday 8th.

You can use the same Royal Mail tracking number Clove provided, here in NZ at: http://www.nzpost.co.nz/tools/tracking

Now the wait to see what happens at customs... Hopefully it'll come straight through, I hope so although being GST registered I can claim it back.

I see that all of a sudden there are now heaps of 3rd party sync/charging docks appearing on ebay for the SGSII including some packages including an additional charger and screen protector etc. It looks like this phone will have more support than anything else that's come before it.
