kiwitrc: I see the Siyah I am running in GB has a dual boot option, anyone know if that has been implemented yet in ICS versions?

Here's some more info on it:

As of now the dual-boot menu options are present in CWM but its not yet implemented.

So far I've not found an ICS ROM that fixes a problem i've been having with widgets.

After an indeterminate length of time my weather, facebook, and twitter widgets all fail and stop updating. I have to close the apps and restart them to get the widget to work again.

It's happened in Remix, Omega and Stock ICS ROM's but never happened in GB :( I have been able to live with it but it has been a bit of a pain.

Otherwise though, I have found Omega with Syah to be the best I've tried. I'm looking forward to having BLN working with sms/mms in the not to distant future too.

Anyone tried Batista70 FOXHOUND EDITION 0.8? It's LP3 based, which reviews well.

Odd, I've no such issues. Then again, I don't use the official widgets because they are far too inflexible for my liking. For twitter/facebook I use "Android Pro Widgets" and for Weather I use Beautiful Widgets. Both apps are highly customisable (multiple widget sizes, colors, skins, transparency settings etc) and they are updated regularly.

Yeah, I don't use the official widgets either. I've tried various permission fixes and alternative widgets but any widgets I have will eventually fail. I think it must be some sort of problem with the specific apps I have running. Maybe a conflict which causes problems. I'm not too keen on uninstalling each one, one-by-one to see what might fix it.

For those of you having double message issues, I see the latest release of Handcent state they have fixed it.

i flashed resurrection remix 1.0 ics and ran into a brick wall with CWM Manager 3.15 that came with it ...

"this version of CWM manager should be used with CF-root v5.0 or newer. It appears you are running a different kernel. Various features have been disabled."

can't install zip updates, can't restore, can't do anything!

ideas?

thanks ...

Does the CWM app let you reboot into recovery? If not, you should be be able to get into CWM recovery using the 3 button method. Turn your phone off, then hold (and keep holding) the volume up, home and power buttons. I'm not sure when you're able to let them go, but I normally let go of the power button a couple of seconds after the boot logo appears. Keep holding the other buttons until you're in recovery.

If all else fails, you can flash a real CF-Root kernel via Odin. The thread on XDA has Odin-flashable files (zipped up) for download and instructions on how to flash. This should get things working again.

You sure about that? Mine has the option at the bottom of the recovery screen to install from internal SD card.
