Since we've started on the subject of screen protectors. Any recommendations? I'm worried that anything I try stick to the glass will form bubbles if I'm not super careful about putting it on.

i live on a farm had dirt on hands most of the time did not get 1 scratch let alone a smudge on me sgs , yes i know we had this discussion before but people just living in town having virtually no contact with dirt ,chances are of it getting scratched are very slim if not next to nothing

Just tried the one MobiCity sent me, it was pretty nasty. Removed it after a day. Just keeping my phone in a leather wallet.

I started off believing that I'd never need a screen protector on my SGSII due to it's Gorilla glass, but some have managed to scratch theirs when a piece of sand or similar gets trapped there. I figured the risk just wasn't worth it, so researched what others had found at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1065384

The consensus seemed to be that SGP Steinheil were probably about as good as they get. Sure, US$16.99 shipped is a lot for a screen protector, but since I bought my Ultra Oleophobic version through eBay, I have no regrets. You get two in a pack, and the fit and feel are fantastic. SGP make several types depending on where your priorities lie. Highly recommended. You don't know it's there. Bubbles are easy to avoid, the feel is fantastic, and fingerprints are easy to remove.

Does anyone know what this part means whilst recording video? I thought it was max length bus it goes past it so I'm a bit miffed

Also are class 4 sd cards fast enough for 1080p recording/viewng?

Class 2 cards are fast enough for 1080p encoding/decoding (or at least my Sandisk one is, other brands may not be as good).

I got a ZAGG invisibleSHIELD last week, installation was very easy (although I did manage to trap one piece of dust under the shield). I just got the screen cover as I've got a case mate barely there case for it.

As others have said it does feel a little bit orange peely and if you side your thumb hard enough you can get edges to move round. Perhaps I didn't put it on properly. I did leave it to "cure" for 24 hours like their site suggested.

One gripe I have with it is there is a hole in the protector where the button is and it's quite easy to slide the small strip around with your fingers and even when it's in your pocket. I'm also scared it'll start to collect lint/fluff and lose it's adhesiveness and come away. I think they should've left that small strip out.

Shipping wasn't too bad considering it's coming from USA and it arrived about a week later.

I'll see how long it lasts, perhaps I'll look at one of the protectors that Spong posted.

Hey guys, sorry for missing this info if posted here, has anybody experienced the beautiful default weather widget gets smaller if you remove it and want to read it again?

This is my first droid.. maybe there is something i have missed but if someone could tell me how to get it back, that would be very helpful!

Thanks for the recommendations. Started reading the XDA thread this morning, and wow. Glad I asked first before purchasing what I thought was a good skin (Zagg InvisiShield.) At work now, but once I get home I'll make the order for the Oleophobic. :)

Hold down the widget till the delete option comes up then release without moving it, you should then be able to drag the bottom right corner to resise it.

cokeman2: is there anyway i can get MMS messages with out turning on the 3g data connection on ?. i don't want to turn on3g as the apps goes on the net i get charged a dollar.
i have got MMS setting in the APN but doesn't want to connect to to it, has not got a dot next to it so can choose that option(slide the geen button on to it) ,hopefully you know what i mean

Download an app called APNdroid. It will let you turn off mobile data but let you keep MMS data on. It also comes with a widget that you can use to quickly turn on/off mobile data.

I've been using this since a few days after getting the phone, and it's been working great so far.

So my phone is currently in transit. According to the tracking details it's at the local FedEx facility in Singapore.

Does anyone know how long it takes for stuff to arrive? (this is a Mobicity shipment.)

If it is FEDEX then barring GST hassles overnight from Singapore. If you have a tracking number call FEDEX 0800733339 and give them your Credit Card details to get it pre cleared, will speed things up.

It'll prob be a couple of days at a guess, mine spent almost a day and a half in singapore before shipping to chch.
