Hi there,  another new owner here.  This thread has been a great resource, and in the end was what convinced me to go for the S2.  I've managed to upgrade to k7 via Odin as helpfully  shown earlier on in the thread, but I'm still having one problem - my WiFi keeps dropping out after about 5 minutes!  Otherwise everything would be perfect.  It connects fine, and still shows as connected, but fails to find websites or continue downloads at about that point until I switch off wifi and turn it on again via the notification bar/top thingee.

I don't really know my way around the phone's innards as yet, and using Odin is the only change I've made to it (the problem occurred beforehand as well).  Are there any things I can try - or is this likely to be something that could be fixed with firmware later?

Cheers for any advice

-Sam

The wifi issue is one I've had since day one. A month on and there's no fix for it yet. I don't even know why it does it. And yes, my wifi is set to stay on the while time.

Just for future reference, I've ordered a force download mode USB jig for my SGS2 which is (naturally) compatible with the SGS, so if anyone ever needs one in the South Island, it's theirs for the asking. . . I figure if we have some scattered strategically around the country then we can all get to one quick-smart.

And no, I don't plan on bricking my phone. . . . but seeing the soft-brick screen for the first time over the weekend got me thinking. . . .Smile

@nofam - "your sgs2" so you've ordered it?

I bought a jig this morning off ebay, coming from Melbourne.

Nice! I got the update during the day today but couldn't check for shaders until I got home, I figured this update would make Riptide work. Cheers!

Same goes for anyone needing one in the lower North Island/Manawatu. Mine should be here within the next few days.

Yup, Riptide working perfectly for me!

Got my official Samsung MHL adapter today - anyone else got theirs? Not had a chance to test it, but I expect it works the same as my prototype one...

NZTF where did you get your MHL adaptor from? I am on the email list from Clove but nothing up there yet?

Certainly not - but I have a case for one, and a jig on order (sounds like we got one from the same place).

I like to do things in a backwards fashion Wink

Mine's now here (no more yellow triangle for me!) and is available to anyone wanting to use it. I only ask that it be returned to me in a reasonable time frame.

If you need it PM me your address details and I'll send it out.
